Redwood was blocked off all summer last year from Main to Salter for a complete rebuild. Now the same stretch is blocked off again! lol.

Man, this is some absolutely dismal weather we're getting! I need a solid 2 or 3 weeks of dry sunny warm now please and thankyou!
So sick of rain and we really haven't had any heat either. All i know is the course was just starting to dry a little but getting this much rain is going to shut it down for days.

One would think that given the 8 Billion ads I have to watch on this site each day, they would have enough money to have the server farm that would support more than 5 users posting at the same time. Or is this a case of the server farm's owner just not having enough power in his mom's basement?

The house that exploded in Transcona yesterday...was home for lunch yesterday heard the boom (I live about 10 blocks away), didn't think much of it (I thought something got knocked over in my yard). Sounds like the occupant(s) were planning on doing some electrical repairs and to install a gas stove on his own. I don't think they've located them yet :-( Update: house occupants are alive and weren't at home when it exploded.

When we were looking for houses in 2018 one of our finalists was on 34 Camrose bay....the house that exploded was on 35 Camrose Bay! RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET. We passed on it because my friend who is a carpenter looked at it with me, said it was mostly asbestos tiles throughout, you don't want to deal with renovating this. I may buy him a case of beer this weekend. The surrounding houses all have significant damage. I'm surprised no one surrounding was seriously hurt.

Saw a cyclist lying on the road motionless this morning as I was driving my kids to school (lots of people on the scene waiting for ambulance).

The vehicle was heading east on Abinojii (Bishop) and they exited right into Royal Wood on a dedicated lane. They struck a cyclist that was heading either east or west on the cycling path but as the cyclist drove across that lane.

I have made that turn 1000 times and the visibility is ok in daylight but this morning it wasn't light out, not sure how it happened but it can get tricky if the cyclist is travelling the same direction (east) as the vehicle because the vehicle driver tends to look the only direction cars come from which is west bound left turn into Royalwood. If you don't check for bikes as you are heading into the turn it could be easy to miss someone if they were coming with pace as they hit the road.

I really hope the cyclist is ok, still feel a bit rattled since I was watching for full traffic light and there was zero movement.

Those yields can be a little tricky with the bike path because it comes at a bit of a weird angle

Yea they are really tough, when you are the vehicle driver you have to take a glance at the length of path early for bikes coming along side you quickly. I have done that every time accept "once" and that one time a cyclist was hauling ass hitting the intersection at full speed and f*** was it close. It was at night and they were wearing dark cloths while cycling (still on me) and it scared the living shit out of me. It was the same spot the cyclist got hit this morning.

I have cycled allot on that same path and I just don't trust vehicles enough to hit those cross walks at speed. I only do it if there are no cars near.

Yeah, that's the issue. They bend the path so that is crosses the yield at a 90 degree angle, but that means you have to rotate ypur head 120 degrees to look back along the path for cyclists

As a cyclist or or jogger on that path, I always assume that the car coming through the yield hasn't sent me and won't stop so I'll stop and wait for them to stop themselves and wave me across

That is my approach too, I assume they can't see me.
