OT Thread Part IIX: The How Do Roman Numerals Work? Edition

I think Marc is the worst looking Staal. Also, I think the girls on the kids shows you guys mentioned are 'cute' but they're way too young for me to feel comfortable including in my lists, for now. I still feel guilty about having Emma Watson ranked so high... :help:

Yeah Rask does look pretty hideous you're right about that. How about Taylor Hall? He looks like Justin Bieber to me. Anyone else see that?

Apparently to 99% of the female population that's not a bad thing. Taylor Hall kind of has a horse mouth, but overall, I'd say he's an alright looking guy. It's not so severe that it makes him fugly.

I think he looks like a horse.

I think he looks like an inbred Justin Bieber.

Do you live in Colorado by the way? I was just in Denver for Christmas visiting a friend! I really like it! Not as much as Florida, but I do like it!

Yep, I love Colorado. I do want to live in a different state when I graduate, but it'll be really hard for me to leave this state. I love the Mountain timezone for sports too.

And Eric AND Jordan both look strange. Marc is the best looking Staal.

This past August was the first time I had been there since like 99. I went there a few times back in the day. Never been to a game at the Pepsi Center yet, but did see a game at Micnichols Arena back in 96. January 3rd to be exact. Devils vs Avs. We won 1-0, and I think Steve Thomas scored with a little over a minute left. Hated him for the Devils!

Pepsi Center jumbotron is trash, they haven't replaced it in 14+ years(since it was built).

I remember when it was being built. I've been to Coors Field which opened a few years before, and even the new football stadium a few weeks ago, but haven't been to Pepsi Center. I guess it was just the time of year I came. If the lockout didn't happen I probably would have went to Jersey for Christmas, and saw some Devils games.

Why is a Devils fan posting on this OT? Now that I think of it, why am I posting in this OT? I hate the Rangers

I root for the Devils when I was a kid because I was a fan of Brodeur. Now I'm indifferent on Devils so I guess I'm indifferent about the Rangers now.

I like the conversations. I usually don't post much in the hockey related threads here except the lockout one. This board is a little more active during these hours than ours (Insert Devils have no fans joke)

I kinda like these guys too. They've been pretty nice to me. Once the lockout ends though I'm going back to hating these guys!;)

Just kidding!

I rooted for the Avs from 95-04 as my second team. We sent our Conn Smythe winner Claude Lemieux away in that three way trade with the Avs, and Isles, and got Steve Thomas in return! I immediately took on the Avs as my second team, and when we missed the playoffs in 96 I got to experience the Avs run as a fan. I did like Roy too. I rooted for the Avs to make it out of the West to face us in 01 in the SCF also. I stayed bitter for a year, but went back.

Once Roy retired I kinda stopped following as much. Once Sakic left I really disconnected.

I cried when Sakic retired, because our core became Paul Stastny and bunch of scraps(Ranger fans will know one of them, Wojtek Wolski )

Yeah for me since they weren't my favorite team I didn't feel as attached. When they started losing guys I liked I didn't keep them as a second favorite, but I really don't have a second favorite now like I did them, years ago. I can watch the Devils 25 years later with different players cause they're my team, but with second favorites it wasn't like that for me.

I hated Joe Sacco as a player too.

The Devils OT Thread is too Loungey for my liking

Some nights it's kinda like a that corner bar at 3:00 AM where no one really goes but just one guy in there all by himself. Only it's actually 1:00 PM on here when that happens. Sometimes this thread is too depending on what night/morning of the week.

Thanks Nils. Nothing new, winning is just winning
It's nice to get some live experience under my belt with profit as opposed to losses though.

Now that my two hockey universes are colliding a little:
The last games between the two teams have been: Gabby's hattrick for the 3-1 win. Feds uncharacteristically (the only dirty play I've seen from him in his tenure with the Rangers) cross checking Dutchy who went on to score 2 goals in that game and got out of a slump in the games after. The 2-1 loss last time was pretty frustrating because Varlamov was better than Henrik that game but the Avs needed the points anyway.

But ya  good stuff.

Both Devils/Avs games last year were snoozers. I'm sure the first game was a treat for the Avs fans though. We got blown out 6-1 in November. It was like game 1 of the 01 SCF. Easily one of the worst games of the season for us, and we were in a losing stretch during that time, and couldn't put together consecutive non shootout wins. The March game in Jersey was a snoozer. It was in another rough stretch where we were getting shutout a lot. Marty, and Giguere getting dual shutouts with the Devils winning in the shootout.

The Rangers/Avs game a few nights later was a lot better game to watch. Good dual between Lundqvist, and Varlamov, and Varlamov was standing on his head.
