All of NW Alberta right now

I live on the 19th floor of a high rise near downtown and felt this. It was subtle but noticeable. My chair shook from side to side and my cat who was sleeping on my lap woke up and looked around. My roommate was across the room facing a different direction and he felt it too. It was very unsettling. We spent half an hour trying to get confirmation on what happened and were relieved to find out it was an earthquake. The city is doing a major bridge project a block away and my first thought was it had something to do with that.

Which bridge project? I don't go Dt at all anymore. Not sure it was still under construction. What are they f***ing around with now?

Never felt anything here on southside and had to look up when the Quakes and aftershocks were. I could see how on a highrise it amplifies any vibration.

One of my Christmas lights on the tree came off. Nah, not even, making it up. But watch the city use this to increase our property taxes again and suddenly they've got another excuse for the LRT and every other project that is interminably late. Imagine not being able to construct infrastructure in the falt prairies in near perfect places to build. Infrastructure should be easy here.

Gotta get the funds rebuild the LRT to make it earthquake proof somehow.

The city is replacing the Latta Bridge located on Jasper Avenue between 90 street and 91st street. Construction started August 23 and is supposed to finish in the fall of next year. Replacing an entire bridge in one year seems optimistic to me especially in our climate but we’ll see. Not sure when the last time bridge work in this city was finished on time but that’s what they tell us anyway. It’s been a major pain in the ass as Jasper Avenue is closed in that area and all traffic detoured through the neighborhood.

I love how projects like that start in August. Like really? You couldn't have gotten your shit together and got the contract ready for the contractors to start in May?

Perhaps the best part of Fleetwood mac, Christine Mcvie passed away.
Such a great singer. She really was that nice melodic softer singing side of Fleetwood Mac. She sang most of their songs, people don't realize that. As good as Nicks is it doesn't work without the McVies. Or everybody in the band.

Last saw them here in 2015, saw them several times. Never figured it was the last time somehow. RIP. You made the world a more beautiful place with your amazing songbird voice and heart Christine.

Would have made sense starting it in April or May but the Edmonton Marathon ran over that bridge. The project started the next day. Had they detoured the runners through the neighborhood some of them may not have made it out.;)

man I'm old and time flies. I just read the OP and Nunny is globe travelling and working for the Olympics but it feels like yesterday that he was allowed to post again on HF because he was old enough to meet the TOS lol
