Does anyone not use an ad blocker? Wanted to support hf without being a sponsor but when they added the top/bottom banner and the pop up ad I finally got one after 10+ years of looking at the ads. Does anyone still stomach them?

Incoming inflation rant...

A 5 pound container of protein powder made by a variety of reputable companies used to run about $80 or so. I'd always shop for deals from online retailers and bought usually from one which had free shipping with any order over $50. They recently cranked that up to over $99, but that's not my rant.

My rant is how much protein powder has skyrocketed over the last six months. I was looking today as I was running low...most are now running at a minimum of $120. I figured maybe they were 6 or 6.5 pound tubs. Nope. Same 5 pound container. Couldn't f***ing believe it and that's the going rate on numerous other sites. I could see a $5, maybe $10 increase, but $40?? Get f***ed. I'll eat a can of cat food pretending to be tomato and basil tuna instead.

Islands in the stream.
So we're in this latest round of City of Edmonton Back alley improvement fiascos. This just occurring as a make work project because there is nothing discernible wrong with our back alley. Its paved, Its fine. We paid for it all the first go round.

But now the city is back for more and forcing this down our throat. The city provides nothing but blanket info on the "improvements" and yet says they assess the back alleys most in need of improvements and proceed. But that isn't the case at all. They are doing area wide enhancements/improvements regardless of the condition. Its blanket redo. The City doesn't even seem aware when this was last done. That the back alley is fine. But proceeding anyway.

What bs. So that during economic calamity, downturn, inflation, the city wants to add this to our property bill and not saying how much this time. Last time it was 250bucks/year for 10yrs for every resident with back alley driveway. Strangely they don't have this cost for front driveways.

It's not just inflation there is also a shortage. I've had to switch brands like 3 times because i simply couldn't get the product.

That makes sense as well. I like variety and rarely stick with one brand so I haven't or didn't notice stock issues from any one specific company as I was looking for something new or one I haven't tried in a while.

I found this one though if you or someone you know is looking for a deal. Free shipping, no minimum purchase amount plus have products on sale.

New rant, different day.

I love the Halloween movies...the originals, Rob Zombie's reboot and the latest trilogy of re-imaging the series which excluded the events of the original sequel.

This last film "Halloween Ends" just didn't have a proper plot. I felt it stole elements from Friday the 13th Part V "A New Beginning" and just had a major plot hole, namely Michael Myers was just hanging out in a culvert for four years? On the "Boourns" scale of 1 'Boourns' being pretty great and 10 'Boourns' being pretty shitty, as a big fan of the series, I give it a solid 7 Boourns out of 10.

So Aaron Carter died, which should be massive for 90's tweens who grew up on backstreet boys.
