I wonder how she is at "multi-tasking".:naughty:
I've managed to resist commenting so far on the um, ball cleaning. whoops.

Billiards. What a sport. The only one when you can ask some attractive lady to clean your balls and not get arrested.

I liked Co-ed Tennis because you get to talk about love a lot while hitting a lot of low ground strokes. Oh sorry you had to reach for that one...oh thats such a lovely stroke, such form. The innuendo in Tennis is endless.

Rodney Dangerfield could have done a movie on Tennis alone.

Billiards is no more a sport than darts and crokinole. They’re games. I was tempted to put chess in there, too.

So another rant.

Went shopping yesterday. Walmart. Wasn't my decision to go on a Saturday. We arrive, no shopping carts where they're supposed to be. Who knows where they are. Get in store and can't even find shopping baskets. This should already have been indication of how overrun the store was. I mean it was unbelievably busy you'd think it was Christmas, boxing, day, and every bonanza day rolled into one. It was nauseating. We finally get to check out (few open and staff hopelessly overstretched to note that there are zero shopping bags in the whole store. Not one. They ran out yesterday. They just don't have any. We forgot to bring our own bags as I actually hadn't anticipated we would be going shopping. So we're kind of asking what we're supposed to do with our groceries. No cart available, no bags available. should I back up the vehicle to the check out? Should I juggle the groceries out the door. Balance them on my head?

I mean its a given this kind of thing was going to be happening once they eliminated plastic bags and its far from the first time. Stores are simply running out of all the bags they sell (the fabric ones) and frankly these are largely shit. We've had handles come right off while carrying groceries. The fabric bags are so flimsy you end up hardly being able to use them much. We have some that look like the handles were glued rather than stitched on. Sigh. Maybe just go back to paper bagging. That couldn't be worse. But this no plastic bags thing was poorly thought out. No way that was going to work, and bag shortages are getting endemic at stores.

Pretty soon people will be looking at hot kijiji adds just for bloody grocery bags.. Or you'll have to buy a box of garbage bags just to put your groceries in, and of course they will break because they can't hold shit..

edit. ps its a little funny that kmart likes this post. ;)

I was thinking more of a Hollywood blockbuster

Such as...

This movie is basically never on, and never available anywhere, and I don't even know why. Can't even find a place to stream it and the Video tape don't work no more.

I like the way Newman got top billing at the top.

That said whoever got paid for the painting of the actors should give the money back. These are worse than yearbook photos. you have one job, make the actors in the film look good.

There weren't any carts in the parking lot? That's where they usually are. As well, BYOB (bring your own bags). Doesn't have to bring a Walmart bag. Plus you save a little on not having to buy new ones. The big Sobey's bags (not the smaller green ones) hold a lot and are sturdy.

Normally we bring our own bags. We were with other people who wanted to go shopping. It wasn't planned, thus we had no bags in the vehicle with us. Sometimes I even put several bags in the vehicle in case something like this arises but eventually those bags get used. We should be more on the ball returning the bags to our vehicle parked in the detached garage I guess but usually when you go shopping for groceries all of that, adn the unpacking, and making dinner, you kind of forget.

I can relate to that. Several times I've gone to Sobey's and totally forget to bring along any bags. So, now, I have a dearth of them.

If you couldn't find any carts inside or out, you can always buy a couple of carts to put stuff in. That way, you're not carrying bags or loose items to your vehicle. If you're thinking of any germs on the outside cart handles, bring along a package of antimicrobial wipes.

The Ellerslie Walmart nearby has a lot of density housing right nearby. So I think that there must be an exodus of people just taking those carts away somewhere. Some stores have even instituted locks to prevent that. The cart wheels lock if its too far from the store of if there was any item not paid for. Interestingly even when we took the basket out of the store the alarm went off. We just explained we needed it. Bring it back.

More the the case the Walmart was just jam packed and all the baskets and carts were taken, or being used. No doubt there were no baskets because people had to use those to carry the groceries to their car (no bags) and thus those being all over. They didn't have enough staff to be retrieving everything. Seems like they have real staffing problems.

I still shop with mask on (been doing that again) and never touch hand to face. We have sanitizer in the vehicle when finished shopping.

I think there's a viral video to be made of filming people coming out of grocery stores that offer paper bags and watching them basically explode in the parking lot.
Like I mentioned even those snazzy colored fabric bags they want you to pay 2.50 for. One we had the handles, which were apparently glued on rather than stiched on. ( I mean WTF) the handles came right off and the bag crashed right on the ground. of course a jar of pickles in there. These bags can burst with 5-10lbs. Actually paper bags are better as you carry them cradling the bottom and you can put more in them.

fortunately we have some supply of properly constructed bags but they all wear out after a while.

In anycase stores running out of bags is becoming more common, and its inevitable that we're going to be hit by a lot of stores running out of bags. The amount required vastly underestimated as people treat bags like quarters or change. Just stuff em somewhere and never use them so they have to make a lot more to keep in circulation.

People shop randomly now, its a not a planned thing like maybe it used to be. You be driving somewhere and you get a call to pick up a few things on the way home and there you are.

Going back to paper is hilarious and ironic. They changed to plastic 35 years ago to save the forests, and now they're going back to paper to save the oceans and landfills. Back to the future.

I was in fort sask last week,, buying some groceries to tide me over. No bags in my truckand obviously none at the till, so when I cashed out at the till, I just put all my stuff back in the basket. When I went to walk out, greeter said, where are you going with that? I said to him, treat this baby as a small grocery cart, Im headed to my truck and when i dump this shit I will do one better than most patrons, I will BRING THE BASKET BACK TO YOU and not leave it in the parking lot. he looked at me incredulously and had no answer, I kept on walking and did as I promised a few minutes later.

Eve Muirhead is probably not old enough for this not to be weird, but wow what a fox. Congrats on her retirement this week from competitive curling.
I was shocked she retired so young, although she did have hip surgery 4 or 5 years ago.

I hate paper. Any sort of moisture and the bags buckle like a teenager drinking for the first time.

At least the plastic bags I'd reuse. I also would use self checkouts and instead of getting 6 bags for my basket of goods I'd find a way to put everything into 2 bags.
