He was saying that if you can't get a younger Scarlett (Ferrari), an older, 'lesser' one (Porsche) is a great consolation prize.

As for the sit on my face part, Google is your friend. :naughty:

30 years ago Challenger broke apart 73 seconds into launch. Can't even quantify the emotions that went through me when I saw it happen.

I saw it in shop. Live. My shop teacher was way in to space exploration and had applied to be the teacher that went to space on that very shuttle.

I wasn't alive when it happened, but watching it after the fact was haunting. Only thing I can remember that surpasses it was watching Flight 175 crash into the South Tower (I had just gotten up) live. Still gives me chills thinking about the atrocities that happened.

In August of that year I lost my Father, Grandfather and Uncle in a mid-air (plane) collision over Cerritos. Needless to say, 911 brought back some bad memories and I have to turn off the Challenger stuff. The funny thing is that I would have sworn that it was after August, but I remember I was in History class. That whole time period is pretty hazy, I guess.

It happened the day after my birthday and I remember waking up to the news watching Peter Jennings with my parents just stunned. They both knew what a space nerd I was and we were all so bummed.

I'm scared ****less when I'm in a car. Flying is thousands of times safer than driving. Your in the air with way less obstacles and barring an explosion, electrical or mechanical errors aren't a big deal because the plane can still glide around with time to look for a safe landing spot. Just fly with an American airline and not one from south Asia or Russia. No fear of getting hit by a drunk/texter because the chances are just so small with professional pilots.

Very sorry to hear about that. That is very tough. :(

I was just a little dude when the Challenger explosion happened but i do remember watching it live in my kitchen. I was too young to understand what had initially happened (just figured a part of the ship came off) but my mom was next to me and then when I saw her reaction, it kicked in for me. Terrible stuff indeed.

Not a fan of the game but these commercials with Christoph Waltz are fabulous. I can watch him reading the ingredients off a box of mac and cheese and be enthralled.

He's in a bunch of those COC commercials. The "yo mama" one is pretty funny.

I was in Grade 4 and seen it live on a TV. Shortly after the explosion (about 15 seconds or so) the teacher turned it off and said something to make us thing there was a problem but it wasn't major and they'd do the launch again. Something like that. I think now it was her way of not having to break the news to a bunch of eight-year-olds that they had just seen several people die. Probably felt it was a question better answered by the parents. I agree.

It sure brought back a lot of memories when I was watching Columbia coming in and it exploded.
