OT: OT - NFL HFLeaf thread

So are we still gunna act like the Leafs and Cowboys aren't the same team? Overpaid regular season "stars" choking in the playoffs.

Respect to the Lions. Hopefully they take out the shit birds if TB can't

Had a friend from high school nearly 30 years ago who was a die hard Lions fan who supported them despite having never won anything and being the butt of jokes because of it.

Thinking about him today, and wherever he is, I hope he is enjoying this long awaited playoff victory.

Yes, and the fanbase is even worse.

When people overhype the Leafs, it's a relatively smaller number of people given Canada's population and hockey being a niche sport worldwide. The Cowboys? Worst f***ing bandwagon fanbase in North America and football is a much bigger game.

You're right in that regard. But they're still a blue and white team, one of the most highly valued teams in the league with a huge fan base, people either love em or hate em, they've had past success, and currently they do well in the regular season only to fail miserably in the playoffs.

The drought isn't as long but no comparison would be perfect.

It's funny. I'm pretty sure if I were Canadian I would have DESPISED the Leafs growing up and kept that going forever. But I'm not Canadian, and I unfortunately like this stupid ass team with its overpaid turds that care more about being Scrooge f***ing McDuck than Cup champions.

Leafs are English soccer and Dallas Cowboys football. It's uncanny. I hate two of those teams and like the other one. What the crap was I thinking?

I hate hype, I hate the media, and I hate nonsense and casual fans. EDIT: I also hate social media. I think I hate things?

In America it's easy to hide from the bad parts of Leafs fandom. You guys can't escape it though, and for that I feel bad.

I agree. It's just pretty bad when the Leafs are even worse than the kther joke franchises from other leagues. They're on their way to Red Sox / White Sox / Cubs status. (before they finally won.)

I WISH the NHL treated the Leafs the way the NFL treats the Cowboys. Could you imagine if the games were called the way half the fanbases in the NHL claim they are when the Leafs play?

Agreed but the NHL treats literally the entire country of Canada like dirt. Every team. Like I hate the Oilers but they get totally screwed like the Leafs do.
 
Frigging NFL wild card weekend at its wackiest wackiness. Houston and Cowboys games were crazy, you can’t see it coming. Shocked at the Cowboys result, thrilled as a 9er fan, but shocked.

Happy for Detroit Lions to get a win for the fans, well done, good game. They get Eagles or TB at home next week, you like their chances either way, again, happy for their fans, have fun there fellas.

Not sure if I cheer for Eagles or TB in one tomorrow. One hand, the more elite QB led teams that go out the better, so you want Hurts out as a 9er fan, one the other hand.. boy Id like to get the Eagles in the NFC championship game for a rematch.

AFC side, cheering for Steelers on same theory, want Allen out of playoffs, but Bills win feels inevitable, because KC-Bills again is what football gods demand and will get.

9ers-Ravens Super Bowl, I realize that’s not exactly a bold prediction. 9ers win, they don’t lost twice in a row to Ravens.

Game would be in Buffalo this time, I like the Bills chances in that, they are peaking at the right time.
(Packers stomping the Cowboys have given me a slight glimmer of hope which I'm sure will be extinguished by around 5:30/6 tonight)

The spread seems too high for a windy, cold game.

I think the Steelers stay in this game.

Today's the 3rd day in a row I try to galaxy brain a large parlay with the Bills and other playoff games combined with some NHL games. First it was the betting favorite Browns getting blasted by a rookie quarterback. Then Dallas let the 9-8 Packers treat them like the Cowgirls and just roll right through the league's number 1 offense at home. Then the Leafs lose to Detroit. So I'm 2-2 in NFL playoff picks and multiple parlays with heavy favorites are now funding the Province of Ontario to combat TTC terrorism.

I'm still betting today on The Bills , Eagles , Avalanche , Panthers , Canucks and Bruins. Maybe the Sabres.

Those early NHL games look +ev and will make it an interesting day of viewing leading up to the big playoff games.

Those 6 leg parlays don't always come in like my normal doubles and 3 leggers but when one hits it makes up for days of getting bamboozled. Anyways , know your limit and stay within it. I got the itch to bet big today.

Watt out will be too much for the Steelers to overcome, best player in the game, IMO.
