Sure! What do we do? I don’t gamble, so no clue.A gentleman's bet?

The only way he comes back is if he narrowly misses out on 700 and that's his end goal. But I think when this season is over he's done.Much like McGwire did in the 90s, Pujols' HR chase has reinvigorated be as a baseball fan.
At what point do we start to have discussions of him coming back for one more season? He's not just hitting home runs. He's hitting, hitting...
I would've said the same thing until very recently, but for a guy who loves the game as much as Albert does, I wouldn't be surprised if he returns for one more season, especially if he ends up at 698 or 699.The only way he comes back is if he narrowly misses out on 700 and that's his end goal. But I think when this season is over he's done.
The only one of the three I can see coming back is Waino.
Pujols is already a lock for the HOF and, unless he is obsessed with reaching the 700 plateau, he will retire. He's reiterated multiple times that he's done. And maybe he's lying or maybe he'll have a change of heart, but 700 is just a number and he's only hitting lefties, it's not like he's hitting well in general. I think he's enjoying the moment and would like to enjoy it on this high, having fun. If he was close to the actual record, I could see him going longer, but I don't see him putting himself through another off-season training routine, spring training, and the regular season grind just to get a few more home runs.
I'm just enjoying the moment. I was hopeful we'd have a fun nostalgia run with him, but I was scared we'd just see him batting around .200 like Molina this season. Whether he gets 700 or not, this is a fun ride, and I think that's all any of us and Pujols himself wanted. And hopefully he can top it off with some playoff heroics.Pujols is already a lock for the HOF and, unless he is obsessed with reaching the 700 plateau, he will retire.
And I don’t think he is obsessed with reaching 700.
On the other hand, a lot of us fans are and that’s ok.
Cards face a LHP starter on Wed and I think the Cubs will throw one this weekend at us.
Important to get him as many ABs against LHP as possible. He is hitting .387 with 11HR 26RBI in 93AB vs LHP this year.
Good lord Cthulhu I hope Matz or Flaherty are back and starter caliber before middle of September. Hudson is not starter caliber, and I wouldn't even have him as relief caliber either.
We can only hope. Murphy would be a great pickup for life after Yadi tho.Maybe he'll be part of the package that nets us Sean Murphy from the A's in the offseason.
And he’s got his BA up to .244. Nice work!!Noot is one of my favorite Cardinals in a long time. First off, amazing name. Wikipedia tells me his dad is of Dutch descent and mom is Japanese which is an unusual combination and leads to Lars Taylor Tatsuji Nootbaar. Absolutely epic name. Most importantly, though, he actually looks like he's having fun playing baseball. I have no problem with the Goldy/Scott Rolen approach of being totally serious and professional all the time, but I really enjoy it when the guys show that they're enjoying playing a fun game for a living. Noot just looks like he's always having the time of his life and it's infectious. I'm glad he's having a very good season and is getting more and more playing time.
Also for speed. Having a pinch runner isn't a bad idea. Although I think he'll be sent back down once Yepez can be called up.Ben Deluzio was called up. He was born in St. Louis, but at some point moved to Florida, so no idea if he grew up a Cards fan or not. Plays center, has been hitting pretty well and gets steals. Imagine he was called up over Burleson for defensive reasons. He's 28, so pretty cool to see a guy get rewarded for continuing the grind.

I forgot all about Carlos Martinez until I clicked on that Tweet. He and Alex Reyes were such duds that were hyped to be super live ammo.He felt like someone who would go to another organization and thrive. I thought the change of scenery would be a jump start to get his mind in the right place because that was always the only thing holding him back. Does not seem to be the case.
Neither was Jeff Weaver, and we all know how he turned outI still don’t think he’s suddenly good after 5+ years of total mediocrity, but I’m glad Monty is pitching well for the time being. He and Quintana have really stabilized the rotation. Flaherty starts Monday. Really hope he does well but I’ve had my hopes dashed before. He’s still only 26, but it’s been almost three years since we’ve seen the really good Flaherty for any stretch of time. At this point even league average is better than Dakota Hudson.
Weaver saved our bacon that season.Neither was Jeff Weaver, and we all know how he turned out
