OT: OT: Lets Go Cardinals! (All Baseball Talk Here) Part 2

I read that since the Cards are drafting 5th in 2025, they can’t draft any higher than 10th in 2026. Is that right?

Is 2025 considered a strong draft?

Really strong at the top thus far, led by Ethan Holliday (son of our very own Matt Holliday). More talent in high school than college thus far, but there's plenty of time for rankings to change. It helps us to pick 5th, in addition to Comp B and second-round picks; it means that there's more bonus money to potentially sign those high schoolers, potentially an arm or an outfield bat.
Memento knows her shit about baseball. Impressive knowledge of that sport.

You're going to make me blush, Chicago. If I knew my shit, I'd be employed by a baseball team, not spending time here. :P

According to one baseball insider on X thus far, but since other teams that contribute to the sport monetarily via revenue sharing instead of receiving, those teams can't win the lottery in consecutive years. In addition, teams that receive revenue sharing cannot win the lottery after two consecutive years in it, which is why the A's this year and Rockies next year won't be eligible to win either.

Since the White Sox have been on the same end (lottery winner last year as a "payor" club), they can't pick higher than 10th when they were the worst team in modern baseball history, so it makes sense that we're in a similar situation next year.

Hi Blues fans. Ranger fan in peace. I'm going to be heading to a Cardinals game this spring. In my brief stay, what are some really awesome restaurants and things to do in STL outside of The Arch and Anheuser-Busch factory?

If you like bbq there are a ton of options too

There was an outdoor BBQ place back when I was a kid, early and mid 80's across the street from a park/baseball fields and in an open area between some old brick buildings that were houses/apartments. I remember it was really good and don't you know, when I try to ask my parents where it was they have no idea wtf I'm talking about.

I think this is the place you're talking about. I know there was one here.

On some nights during the summer, there would be a BBQ at this park with the baseball fields you mentioned. The fieldhouse with the high arches had the grills inside. It was always an open building with restrooms on each side. They placed lots of picnic tables out front on that lawn.

I think this is what you're talking about, but it was never a real restaurant; just a summertime community pop-up of St. Louis pork steak yumminess!!

I think you might actually be right and as you describe it it does sound exactly like what I remember. I'll have to show this to my dad and ask if we ever went to this area when visiting family.

There is a ton of good food in and around the city, what kind of stuff are you into or where are you staying, I can give you some recs that you might like or close to your hotel/airbnb whatever. Also are you bringing kids with you? If so definitely take them to City Museum, it is a must visit for those with kids, they will go crazy and love it.
