What did you guys think?

I liked it - thought it was equal parts classy and basic.

A bit embarrassed by the reaction (or lack thereof) that Commander Hadfield got, and just in general how quiet the place was.

Also - was it just me, or did Andy Frost sound incredibly subdued and flat ? Has the magic just gone from his voice or something??

I liked it too. Would appreciate a video upload.

As for crowd noise I don't think they captured that audio well. I'm sure inside it was pretty loud.

It was certainly one of the better ones I've been at.

I think with Hadfield most were just listening to what he had to say, others figuring out who he is. What type of reaction should he have received?

The crowd was very good last night, free beer may have had something to do with that.

I honestly found it very sloppy.

I always like the Montreal Canadiens productions better than the Leafs. They seem to take things more seriously whereas the Leafs always go for this kitschy vibe, like the puckdrop from space, and Andy Frost makes the Toronto Maple Leafs home game seem like a Monster Truck Rally/strip club.

But I did like seeing Felix Potvin again...

I thought it was lame as hell. The lightshow was just generic and nothing special for a home opener (some highlights, wowee!) then the whole puck drop thing was just....meh

the concept was cool but the execution wasn't all that great

then you've got potvin...I'm a fan but come on, it's not like he won anything with us

then tucker, who is still on our buyout cap hit. why commemorate a bum?

then you've got Sittler running around like an idiot eating fries...

all in all my feeling from this was we are not the Yankees. We don't have the class and history and execution of a top franchise like that, but we want to be - and miss the mark sorely.

My feelings too. The production of our pregame ceremonies have always underwhelmed me. I'm not sure if it's our unstable history (and present), or if they need a new production crew.

Couple things:

1. Kessels reaction to the cheering was hilarious.

2. Grabovski gave one pansy hand wave to the crowd when his name was called hahaha

What did you guys think of Andy Frost?

I was expecting big, booming, full of life Andy - was it just me that felt he's lost a bit of excitement in his voice?

He didn't sound the same, maybe under the weather a bit.

The Leafs media department is seriously hurting. From the terrible LeafsTV and the bush league chucklehead "Kenneth" personalities on it to lame Andy Frost, the Leafs look cheap and minor league.

Andy Frost, the Paul Morris wannabe? Never Andy, never.

I don't know why you guys are being so negative, I thought it was pretty cool but I'm a sucker for opening ceremonies involving team history, cheers for our boys and historic Leafs players.

I was embarrassed about how quiet the place was when Hadfield got the crowd involved and Bower looked embarrassed to be there, representing the Leafs
