Michael Vick couldn't evade the rush with this o line. Solder gets beat off the snap every play, the right side is an unmitigated disaster.
The giants are better off drafting OL with every pick and bringing in bridgewater or fitzmagic than drafting a QB and making him David Carr behind this shit offensive line.

Eli Manning is a disaster. I liked the sack where the guy touched his arm and he just fell over.
I get that Eli is a big problem. Zero mobility, no elusiveness whatsoever, and inaccuracy when he does, on occasion, get time to throw. He's done. But the bizarre axe you have to grind when it comes to him is a little over the top, especially for a guy who brought us two superbowls.

You almost never talk about line play, which is among the very worst in the league. Eli was getting pressure in his face on 3-step drops. Our line is immediately driven back on every play. Running or passing. Interior and edge pressure. It's a joke.

Eli is toast. We all know it. But your need to shit on the man despite all he's done for the organization discredits every valid point you make. He's already been declining hard, and he's playing in a situation only a handful of QBs in the entire league would be able to salvage. Just give it a rest.

Axe to grind? I think the guy has been an awful leader on this team for years, now. His play as it goes down the tubes is unfortunate, but his leadership has left just a ton to be desired. Eli Manning is simply no leader of men, and I have a real problem with that from a guy in his position and at his paycheck. Say what you want about Beckham, but he is at least trying to inspire his teammates. I find Manning's play to be pathetic, disheartening, and I consider him to be basically stealing a paycheck at this point. This is David Diehl-worthy bad but Diehl was never making a salary like this (and Diehl was at least a leader).

The line is bad, but the statue of a QB makes it look even worse. The pass protection isn't all that much worse than most lines around the league. It's the run-blocking that gives me absolute fits since proper run blocking would open up the passing game quite a bit.

FWIW, Manning has been hovering right around 2.6 seconds for time to throw all season. The league average is in that range. He's moved up and down depending on the game. So the idea that he just has no time to throw at all is pure nonsense. He now takes forever and a day to go through his progressions, and that is just killing him out there.

. . . or you draft a QB and sign Fitz to be a bridge guy. Which is exactly what the team should be doing. Take a QB at 1 or so.

The top of the draft has zero offensive linemen worthy of a top 5 pick let alone a top 2 or 3 pick. Taking an OL that high this year would be completely moronic.

The good thing is that the draft has really, really good depth. So there should be a lot of rounds 2-3 offensive linemen to build around. If you can get Herbert at 1 and a guy like Cajuste in the 2nd, it's a heck of a draft already. Then you can let Herbert learn behind the bridge QB for a year (or however long he needs).

I think people are under valuing how well the Redskin rush defense has played recently. In the last 3 weeks, they held McCaffrey, Zeke and saquon to 20, 33 and 38 yards (less than 100 combined). So its easy to blame the OL but the other side gets paid too. Despite that, saquon is still 7th leading rusher in league.

That stat measures the time from snap to throw. It excludes sacks so it's not really a measure of how much time a QB has to throw but how fast they take. My take on This is that Eli can get rid of the ball quickly but it if he doesn't then he's going down.

Thread title can be updated to reflect the Jets suck, too. I mean they've been ruined by injuries on both sides, but still. Need new GM and coach.
