OT: OT: 2018 Football Thread III: Well, the Giants suck, anyway!

He's going to screw up the cap just like he did last time he had a ton of space if Trumaine Johnson is any indication. I'd almost rather get Idzik back.
It's frustrating because he was supposed to be a great talent evaluator. That was his whole thing. The draft should be his whole thing. Instead, he had been dreadful.

Doomsday and Grits Blitz are some of my favorites.

Ready for the Giants to build their new "We Will Hold You To A Modest Amount Of Points" Defense.

So far it looks like the Jets have interviewed or have scheduled:

Mike McCarthy
Eric Bieniemy
Adam Gase
Kliff Kinsbury

I don't get the Kingsbury part. OC maybe, but not HC.

And that concerns me. If they want to get a big-time coach, that guy is going to want to pick his own coaches. He's not going to want to walk into a situation where the GM is already in a tenuous position, and then also inherit coaches. The big-time coaches, they're going to want to come in and make their own hires. They'll also want say in personnel moves, which I'm not sure they can get here, but still...at least give them the option to bring in their own guys.

(I would be okay with Kingsbury as an OC. Pro-style offenses are become more college-style. Kliff can do that. But I want the coach to pick Kliff.)

I agree here. He has no business going for the HC job to me though.

I get that college has a whole layer of variables with recruiting and all that, but this isn't the team for that move.

Glad the Giants are responsible for turning around the Eagles season.

Brutal for Chicago. Parkey sucks, but man, to nail both the upright AND crossbar. Different angle of contact on either and it could have gone through. Just awful.
Was slightly blocked. A finger was probably enough to make the fg miss though can't say for sure.

According to who? I have not heard this ever. He wasn't even a lock as a top-20 pick coming into the year.

I did not catch his name. He was on the ESPN Chicago station that came up on my app. He also said Tua Tagovailoa would be next years #1 draft pick.

Weird how it seems like 60+ field goals are becoming more and more common yet misses from 45- seem to remain the same.

It's an over-used term. Leonard Williams was referred to as generational.
Yeah I can understand that much. Still, there are people that for months have been listing him as the #2 or #3 DT off the board, before the suspension stuff.
