So, I had a fun phone call with Nate yesterday.

He said that he and his roommates are getting kicked out of the house they are renting at college.

I immediately thought they had done something to tick off the landlord as he is anal about stuff. It turns out that they haven't had water in almost a week and the landlord may need to have serious work done to get the well working again.

So, I am waiting to hear when Nate needs me to show up, co-sign for a new place since he's under 21yo, and help him move...

We downsized from a three to a two bedroom in May, figured we would pay less for water (I less person most of the time) and electric (significantly less space to cool). Well... the unit we are in has no individual meter for the water so the complex bills us for the water and sewer fees and they are significantly more than the three-bedroom. AND the electric use is higher. There has been no savings there, we're paying more total.

Hope they sort out the issues there - no water is terrible to deal with, from personal experience due to storms.

My water bill for a 4 person household is generally under $12 a .month. Now I do spend another $20 on drinking water but that's because I buy Nestlé or Singha bottled water instead of the much cheaper reverse osmosis as I don't trust the filter cleanliness in those machines

I am sure it will smell great when I get there.

Had a fascinating meeting with my boss today, who wants to demote me because he's not getting what he thought out of me. In the same conversation, he agreed that downsizing our department by effectively 60% hasn't helped, and that he understands what it is that I do a lot better now than he did 15 months ago when he promoted me. So even though I'm doing the job I agreed to, which I was very clear about before accepting and he agrees I'm doing a great job at, it's not enough.

Edit to add a former coworker's commentary:

it is way past time to be gone from that nonsense. the toxicity isnt going away

Just had my first real poppa bear moment..
Was driving down the parkway trying to get my kid to sleep since she hadn't since 6am. Got off around Hilton NY to turn around and go home failing at my mission. Pulled to an all way stop and started to creep through since no one else was around and a truck blows through going 70ish and beeps at me for being in their way. Followed them for miles fuming. Pull into a parking lot and hes got a buddy with him. Explained my situation with my kid in the backseat and that I wasnt having and told them "two for one special sounds nice" (I'd have probably lost lol). Got back in their truck and drove away. Still f***ing fuming. The friday happy hour isn't worth my daughters life you 50 year old shmucks. I change my mind I think I'd have won....

What I heard in my head at the end of this was "Kick his ass, Seabass!"

I can understand the rage, but I'd be careful who you follow, especially with your daughter in the car. There are some wackos out there.

Idiotic people do idiotic things and are quite happy doing them. There is no rationalizing with them. No debate to be had. Nothing will change their ways or their minds. 90% know they are in the wrong and don't care and the other 10% think they are in the right and can never be convinced otherwise. It's better to shake your head, throw up your hands and move on with your life no matter how much we may want to let them know they are idiots.

Red Bulls made me feel the exact opposite of the Sabres with one of the most shocking upsets in MLS history by beating defending champs Columbus on penalties to win the 3 game series in 2. I have no voice left and was literally crying with joy, nobody felt we even stood a chance.
