What happens if roobroeck doesn’t come back AND they don’t trade for Konnor smith? Is there a chance they’d add a guy like Trent Swick (who is huge) from Kitchener on the wing?

I also wonder if they get a proven backup for oster. From what I’ve seen gravelle probably isn’t ready and what happens if oster gets hurt around playoff time?
So many variables it's hard to predict.
I think Oshawa adds one's more D and another Forward.

They wouldn't add another OA goalie so who is proven that is affordable and worth AFTER address the other 2 positions I mentioned first.

Im told a Gibson from SOO could be an asset Oshawa pursues.

Gotta wait and see on Roobroeck so we may not know until Jan 9th (or whenever OA trade deadline is)

I wonder if they could add a guy like vaccari to back up oster. He is better than gravelle but gravelle being 2 years younger obviously has higher potential.

If I am the fronts I would absolutely try and get an upgraded OA like parsons in net and then have Betts who is 16 learn from one of the best in the league. I think Betts is better than vaccari already so that’s why I mentioned vaccari but I could see kingston not wanting to trade their goalie of the past 3 seasons to one of, if not their biggest rival.

Makes sense for sure but im not sure they’d be able to get him without griffin involved. If it’s picks they want it would make more sense for him to go to a team like Kingston or Brampton who has no shortage of that. Would griffin be on the table? If so gotta think soo would much rather have a player and some picks opposed to just picks. They have a great 07 group and Hopkins is off the table in a potential trade for Gibson which is why I am wondering about if griffin would be too.

I would guess Brady Smith plus picks

They are definitely not the same person.
I’m 99.9% sure it’s the King Rebellion player that was signed lol.
Haoxi (Simon) Wang is the 6'6 D-man for King. Played North York in 16U

Hong (Simon) Wang is a smaller forward for Lindsay. Played for JRC in 16U

Both '07 born too lol

Yeah will get very hairy if Danford is out and Ritchie, Barlow, Sennecke make Canada (I'd assume 2/3 of them do). I don't think Sinivuori will make Finland until next year. A potential lineup if those 4 are all gone would be:

F Lines:
Torrance-Griffin-Buckley
Toms-Sinivuori-Rogowski
Graham-Franssen-Smith
O'Toole-Costello-

D Pairings:
Sandhu-Marrelli
Svozil-D'Amato
McDonell-Rodriguez
Others: Blaseg

G:
Oster
Gravelle

And Marrelli could be invited to Canada camp which would make it even worse. That lineup isn't winning many games lol. There will be 9 games with the WJ guys gone
A week ago we thought this might be the lineup for 9 games. Now Danford is already healthy, signed Wang and Marrrelli/Sennecke/Barlow aren't even going to camp

F Lines:
Barlow-Sinivuori-Sennecke
Torrance-Griffin-Buckley
Toms-Franssen-Rogowski
O'Toole/Graham-Costello-Smith

D Pairings:
Sandhu-Danford
Wang-Marrelli
Svozil-D'Amato
Others: Rodriguez, McDonell, Blaseg

G:
Oster
Gravelle

That looks a lot better for the 9 games while Ritchie is gone

100%. That’s a Silver lining for sure. I don’t think the Gens will skip a beat. They will keep motoring.

Almost like the Tyler Brown situation in Plymouth if my memory serves me correctly

Is Wang playing the rest of the year? I could be wrong but I thought I read somewhere that he was only playing 10ish games with Oshawa this year and it was more of a next year signing.

Not as an undrafted '06. Maybe next year

He's signed to a B card right now which means he's allowed to play up to 10 games. So he's also going to still play with King. Mainly as protection for him so if the Gens go add 2 veteran D-men at the deadline and suddenly he's the 6th/7th D, he's not just sitting out in his draft year. The B card can be upgraded to an A card at any time though. Will depend on how his transition to the OHL is and how he looks. I was told he's playing vs Ottawa tomorrow

Aww ok. Saw a projected roster and he was listed as fourth line centre. I know those things are someone’s idea so took with grain of salt. Thx.

If memory serves correct, all rookie players are on an affiliate card until they play their 8th game and then they upgrade to a full card. How the OHL team manages that is up to them (and the player).

Is it 10th game? Except teams first two selections of that year I believe.

If you're signed to a gold contract then your automatically on an A card. They don't usually release which contract you're on when they announce the signings tho. Can only have so many gold contracts on a team at one time

Gens sign 2008 born 4th round pick Anthony Figliomeni. I mean this as a compliment but he plays like such a prick. A very Brady Stonehouse type game that drives the opponent wild. Assume he gets into a handful of games this year then is a bigger piece next year

I know Anthony is a forward, but is he a center man 🤔
