Toronto, ON.
Actually they had a significantly better 2nd period than the 1st. Holding Peterborough to only 6 shots in the 2nd.

They do still look lost as a whole but that period was better than 1st.
The 2nd was definitely a better period and they played fantastic in the third period. That right there is how they have to play going forward. Puck support, D moving the puck better, bodies and pucks to the net. Reloading in the O-zone so we’re not giving up odd man rushes all game long. Much improved effort. Have to stay afloat and hopefully take off after the 20 game mark like last season.

2 points is better than no points
lol yeah. Have to take the small wins and build from it right now. Wasn’t pretty but 2 points is 2 points.

Nice to see them get rewarded for absolutely dominating the last 41 minutes of that game. Petes didn't get a real chance after the 1st period and in the 3rd the Gens finally started sending guys to the net and making life more difficult for the opposing goalie (shots were 18-2). Hopefully they carry that over to tomorrow. I'd be going with Oster again, can't afford a good game that ends in a loss because of goaltending at this point

2 points is better than no points
There's nothing worse than playing like shit a couple games in a row and then finally dominating a team and still losing. So glad that didn't happen

Kumpulainen was a shock for sure but he wasn't a world beater and was also kinda Soft. Sinivuori will do fine replacing him.

Punnet, Lockhart and Rolofs is part of the game, no surprise there.

Ritchie will be back at the end of the month

Roobroeck is getting 4th line minutes in Hartford right now so if that keeps up, he could return.

Bedkowski and Delisle, well, self explanatory.

Obviously Roobroeck coming back would be nice but for sake of argument let's say he doesn't.

Oshawa will definitely look to add an OA cause the current 3 aren't the best available. Oshawa just won't make an OA decision until Roobroeck is confirmed.

I can still see Oshawa filling out the back end with a Konnor Smith and Bronson Ride. Those 2 would definitely change the landscape of our defence and give the offence more confidence. With the way Marrelli and Sandhu are playing offensively and Danford and Svozil on defence, I can see D'Amato being part of the OA trade for Smith. I know some folks around don't see it but I guess that's just my opinion.

Ride is would be a great add of size an toughness to compliment the rest.

If those moves came true, our defence could be...

Marelli-Danford
Sandhu-Smith
Ride-Svozil

That defensive core could be the best in the league.

I also think Oshawa adds another Forward piece. Another 2C but again, depends on Roobroeck.

This team will look vastly different come mid January imo and will right the ship for the playoffs. We just need to trust the process, no matter how bleak and hard they are to watch right now.
If Smith goes , OS won't take an OA in return.

This year is about developing a young roster.

They'd go the last 3 months with 2 OA, and either a younger Dman or picks to turn into one .

Smith staying on as C couldn't have worked better.

This game should have been about 5- and Carson Cameron saved at least 3 goals blocking shots single handedly.
With that said Oshawa look's like a very disorganized team right now on their zone entry's which isn't shocking considering some of the missing pieces and new line combos.
Barlow looked like a player that is still trying to adjust to the system differences between OS and Osh.
I think it will be a good month or so before Barlow really adjusts.

Absolutely no emotion on the bench from the coaches last nite. Was at the game and watched the whole coaching staff coming out to the bench atleast 5 to 7 mins before the rest of team came out in the 2nd and 3rd period. Find that very odd. Yes they had A good 3rd period but again it's against the youngest team in the league. Something just seems off with this team.. 🤔

That's pretty normal. Laxdal would do that most games last year (with these same coaches) and DJ Smith used to do it very early too. Give your piece and then let the players have the room

Sometimes that's the are if the deal. Taking back on an OA to make the trades work.

Oshawa got Barries Captain Connor Punnett in exchange for 3rd, a 6th and Thomas Stewart (OA)

Before that, Oshawa traded Lleyton Moore (Also Captain) to Kitchener for a 2nd, a 3rd and a 8th plus Joseph Serpa.

Both situations the selling team got the "less desirable" OA in the situation.

Don't think if OS trades Konnor Smith that they won't be taking on an OA for the remainder of the year.

Dale DeGray is a guy who always wants to make the playoffs. Tanking isn't in his blood. Could see him, more than anyone, want an OA coming back to help the D-core from getting caved in the rest of the season.

Whether or not D'Amato went to OS in this hypothetical trade or not really doesn't affect the cost either way though. It would just be to find D'Amato a spot in the 2nd half and OS to keep a veteran leader. But if he's in it or not, the picks would likely be the same
