Holmgren Made two of the ballsiest and smartest trades that few if any gm's would have the guts to make.

Jeff carter for the NHL points leader and Sean Couturier
Mike Richards ( currently available on waivers) For wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn.

Imagine the current flyers without those two trades.

Didnt those two play a big part in the team reaching the cup finals and being competitive as hell? What did those two wind up doing when they went to the kings? oh yea, win two cups. please, youre the definition of naive.

What a joke of a thread. The Flyers management has been trying their best to win and spare no expense to do so for decades. It has come back to bite us in the ass a bit after the window closed but I call that more respectable than some teams tank strategy. I mean, hell, I know of a team that almost went bankrupt because they tried to take advantage of a **** system that encourages and rewards losing.

Yea, because those two would have helped win two cups like Carter and Richards did, more so carter haha.

They still wouldve had Carter, buddy. They traded both of those guys for Richards.

You can't tell me that the idea of a line with Carter centering with Simmonds on the wing doesn't seem like a serious threat.

LOL @ Hivemind.

We had a great team with Richards and Carter, missed our opportunity by 1 game to bring home a cup. That window closed so it was time to move on so they did and ended up getting Voracek, Simmonds, Schenn, Couturier and Cousins.

We have 3 of the top 20 defensive prospects now and are using patience to build from within. This team if all goes well will be back on track in a few years. This is called good management.

Congrats to the Kings for using those two guys to put them over the top and win cups.

I love Simmonds, Giroux, and Voracek. Everything else there is a mess.

Lol. Schenn Couturier Laughton must be worthless huh? Luke Schenn is pretty underrated too. We have best pool of D prospects in the NHL.

People can rip Hextall all they want theres a reason he was the most sought after guy for GM positions before he was promoted with thw Flyers. Vancouver was pretty intent on hiring him also, he knew what he was getting into and has a plan.

You have no clue who they would or wouldnt have had in the first place, buddy haha.

The fact is, the Kings won two cups with Carter and Richards, both contributing to the wins and being a contender since both have been in LA. Who cares what they could have had when 2 out of the 3 seasons they have had Carter and Richards they won the cup 2 out of 3 times while making it to the WCF 3 consecutive years with them on the team.

Dude, take off the black and orange glasses. The Flyers management has been garbage for years now. Giving out large sums of money on terrible contract to sometimes over the hill players is not something that should be worshiped. It is terrible.

Did I say they traded him to the Kings? nope. Dont jump to conclusions. I know he was traded to the Jackets, but it was dumb for the Flyers to let him go. He clearly is an impact player having helped a team win 2 cups in 3 years.

I'd find a real coach instead of Berube. Don't think the rest is even a problem.

Predictably this is just going to be one of those circular arguments about Carter and Richards though.

They didnt, this guy is ****ing clueless. It was clear they wanted to rebuild and to Give Giroux more minutes which wouldnt have happened if they kept Richards and Carter. Carter hasnt even scored 50 points since he was in Philly, Voracek has been a better player for 3 years now. Add in Couturier, yeah were pretty happy there. Richards trade just doesnt even need an explanation.

Every trade doesnt have to be a fleecing, theres actually trades where both teams benefit. Clowns like this guy are so ignorant they cant even comprehend this though.

Yea, their defense isnt atrocious or anything. They havent given some terrible dmen some ludicrous contracts either.

I'd break the trades down for you and why they were made, but I'm not sure you care. You just want to scream, "lulz Flyerzz suckkzz."

Have best prospect pool of defensemen where most are ready to make a jump, but you are clueless yet again. They will all be on ELC and Grossmann/Coburn may even be gone by this trade deadline.
