Too bad those OT points aren't helping them this year because they're 14-18 without them. The Isles playing an OT game? Shocked
And the bottom of the East is such a joke right now. Turtle race between 5 or 6 teams who are floating either at NHL 500 or just below it, and none of them can seem to break NHL 500. The Rangers were over NHL 500 for the longest time before falling below it. Everyone else has been skirting it and/or chasing it all year long. Literally teams 9 through 14 are all between zero games above NHL 500 or just 2 games below it. Hilarious.
And the two current wild card teams in the East are currently on pace for 88 and 86 points. And none of them 500 chasers are out of it because of how pathetic the records are for the two current wild card teams.
*Note* I'm counting Boston as wild card number one and not Atlantic division number 3. Technically Tampa are in wild card one, but only on a technicality. They have SIX games in hand on Boston and are only 3 points below them. They would be third in the Atlantic on points percentage, while Boston would be the true wild card 1 right now.
