The Isles playing an OT game? Shocked
Too bad those OT points aren't helping them this year because they're 14-18 without them.

And the bottom of the East is such a joke right now. Turtle race between 5 or 6 teams who are floating either at NHL 500 or just below it, and none of them can seem to break NHL 500. The Rangers were over NHL 500 for the longest time before falling below it. Everyone else has been skirting it and/or chasing it all year long. Literally teams 9 through 14 are all between zero games above NHL 500 or just 2 games below it. Hilarious.

And the two current wild card teams in the East are currently on pace for 88 and 86 points. And none of them 500 chasers are out of it because of how pathetic the records are for the two current wild card teams.

*Note* I'm counting Boston as wild card number one and not Atlantic division number 3. Technically Tampa are in wild card one, but only on a technicality. They have SIX games in hand on Boston and are only 3 points below them. They would be third in the Atlantic on points percentage, while Boston would be the true wild card 1 right now.

Contender and powerhouse Tampa Bay Lightning drop their 4th in a row, losing to Anaheim 4-1. 3 goals in their last 3 games. #concerned

Tampa is a team i would love to avoid, but people were going overboard pumping them up like they were going to walk to the finals. Their shooting percentage was never sustainable.

Perhaps they should be concerned too…what’s your point?

It’s been said repeatedly that the source of “concern” is not strictly losing four games in a row. There’s context to it that goes beyond just those four games.

I think it’s time to hit the panic button in Tampa. A contender doesn’t drop games to San Jose and Anaheim like that.

I'd take pity on him. Probably was just an honest mistake.

I can't think any player actually has their cell phone on them during games or we'd be seeing them fall out of clothes and equipment and out onto the ice every game.
I also think it was probably a mistake.

Only other reasons I could think would be relationship/sex related or mob related. neither are those seemed reasonable enough.

I saw it was 3-2 Sabres early in the 3rd the last I looked.

And I knew they weren't gonna win that game.

We went through this a few weeks ago when they played them. I think they played that one fairly close for a while.

Tonight is the first time in weeks that there's a single team above NHL 500 in the East who aren't in a playoff spot.

Technically Ottawa is out, but based on points percentage it would be them over Montreal.

And by the way, Vancouver are a wildly overrated team. I don't understand why they were a shoo-in for a playoff berth this year just because they got in last year, other than the Pacific is so bad.
