I had to look up who the Sabres were playing

It's the Leafs, so blowing a lead against them (and the Caps) is kind of expected.

lol Buch opened up the scoring against the Rangers

It’s been that way for 2 years and Adams has DONE nothing. Management that won’t sit on their hands is needed
Hell of a trade by Chris Drury as he walked in the door.

Where is Sammy Blais these days? Is he even in the NHL anymore? Is he even alive anymore?

At least before, you could argue they had such a surplus of assets it made sense to wait a bit and see what they end up looking like - that excuse is gone now that they have legit superstars but all of their best defenders are left handed and most of their forwards are less than 23.

At this point it’s expected of the Sabres against any team. They’re the worst team in the league currently. They shouldn’t be but here we are.

He’s with the Canucks AHL team. All time troll job by Blais scoring 0 goals with the Rangers and only 9 pts in 54 games with them. Then going back to St Louis and scoring in his first game and having 20 pts in 31 games his first year back with them

The plethora of assets and cap space was why I said in the past they should’ve tried to go for it rather than sit on their hands. They were in a prime spot to accelerate things.

In fairness to Drury making that trade was probably a condition of getting the job.

I was going to really have a hemorrhage if we lost to the Blues (again) after the Rangers beat them.

The Blues seem to lay an egg to the Rangers, then come into our building and put us right down. I clearly remember that happening a couple years ago. Binnington’s numbers (I’m assuming he’s not playing tonight because he played last night) against the Rangers compared to us are really far apart. They’re not completely terrible against the Rangers or his worst numbers of any opponent, but they’re definitely mediocre. And he has zero shutouts against them to 2 against us.

I’m a little surprised Binnington only has two and not three shutouts against us.

Is it possible the Rangers really really just want Drury to be fired?

This is horrendous stuff. They can’t be trying.

I think this is definitely part of it. I really don't think they should be this bad even with the ever persistent 5v5 troubles. I think they f***ing HATE Drury and want his ass gone. I don't even know if the players have a big issue with Lavi yet

Like I said before, Drury is a shit ass GM, the shit he thinks he's doing is something GM's like Holland or Lou wouldn't do in Detroit and here in NJ when Lou was here. Players despise when GM's talk up a big game and have no RESUME. Gallant got shit canned because the players didn't like him after the NJ series loss and his resume as a player + coach shits on Drury's. And yes, some of it is regression from NYR's decade of bullshit they got but like @Hisch13r said they should NEVER be this bad

The Jonathan Quick revival has had a sudden end.
Credit to him for completely changing his game at 37 years old to prolong his career, but he's pretty old at this point.

I expect the goalie numbers on their team to probably not be so hot the rest of this year, but still likely better than expected relative to team performance. At least for Shesterkin I do. Quick is so old that he can break apart at any moment. It looked like he did that 2 years ago, but little did I know that it was more about the style of play he had (flopping and breakdancing and leaving 5-7 open nets per game because of it) and having to reinvent his game than being physically done. He could be nearing physically done or he could still play another year after this.

They're definitely not playing. I think Dolan needs to seriously consider firing the GM before he fires the coach. I don't know if a new head coach is saving their season at this point. They may as well stay status quo with Laviolette through the end of the year.

It was kind of an even game in Toronto the 1st 2 periods with a bit of a lean to the Leafs. Maybe like 55-45 or 60-40 Leafs. Buffalo has proceeded to lay the biggest egg in this 3rd period. With 6:37 left the Corsi is 22-6 Leafs, Shots 13-3, scoring chances 10-2, high danger chances 6-0, expected goals 1.29-0.16. They're beyond broken. I hope they fully bottom out and somehow Tage becomes available. Gimme

He just seems like a massive dick. Like sure the Goodrow/Trouba stuff made sense from a hockey perspective in the summer but going behind a beloved players back to force him out after he used his protection to block a deal and then also trying to deal the captain back to back is a dick move. Sending out the memo without even talking to the players about it first is a dick move. The way he treated foreign teenagers that were top 10 picks in Hartford with Kravtsov and Andersson was him being a massive dick. He just seems like a piece of shit.
