Starting to feel genuine shame that we managed to give up 4 non-EN goals vs Detroit twice.

The 5 times, out of 26 games, when the 24-25 Detroit Pop Guns scored at least 4 non-Empty Net goals:

Detroit win against New Jersey Devils
Oct 24 DET 5 vs NJD 3 (1 ENG)

Detroit loss to Anaheim
Nov 15 DET 4 @ ANA 6 (1 ENG for ANA)
Detroit OT loss to San Jose
Nov 18 DET 4 @ SJS 5 OT
Detroit loss to New Jersey Devils
Nov 29 DET 4 vs NJD 5

Detroit OT loss to Vancouver
DEC 1 DET 4 vs VAN 5 OT

To recap, Detroit went 1-2-2 in games where they managed to score 4 non-Empty Net goal and the only win was against us.

In the 21 remaining games, the Wings have scored 3 non-Empty Net goals in 6 of them.
Detroit went 4-2-0 in those games.

Detroit loss to Pittsburgh
Oct 10 DET 3 vs PIT 6
Detroit win against Nashville
Oct 19 DET 5 @ NSH 2 (2 ENG)
Detroit loss to Buffalo
Oct 26 DET 3 @ BUF 5 (1 ENG for BUF)
Detroit win against Chicago
Nov 6 DET 4 @ CHI 1 (1 ENG)
Detroit OT win against Pittsburgh
Nov 13 DET 3 @ PIT 2 OT
Detroit win against NY Islanders
Nov 25 DET 4 @ NYI 2 (1 ENG)

They scored 2 or fewer goals in their other 15 games, including tonight’s loss, going 5-8-2.

We’re 0-6-0 when we’ve scored 2 or fewer goals but 4 of those were shutouts.

Florida are probably alright

But…..and you know I’d be the one to bring this up……this isn’t the first time Bobrovsky has had a poor season since signing with Florida.

He’s probably had more bad (regular) seasons there than good ones. One of those seasons he had a good playoffs and made the cup finals.

And they did get at least one cup and two finals appearances for their troubles in giving him that contract. So it isn’t worth complaining about.

They’ll make the playoffs, but are they gonna make a third straight finals appearance? Odds are probably not great for them.

Hiring Torts is probably the worst thing the Flyers could have done.

Here they are pacing for another 85-88 point season.

Then again, it was Fletcher who hired him and they were still “Competing” when he was there.

Torts is probably keeping them from truly bottoming out.

I’m confused as to how they’ve won this many games this year. Even their goaltending numbers are in the toilet. Last year they decent numbers all around, but they have some hideous ones this year.

Nah, they're fine with him. I think they'll make the playoffs this year, tonight was a brutal loss though for that. Briere has them with a ton of draft ammo this year. If he thinks, they're a goalie or another forward away then maybe he trades for someone in those areas. I wonder if the Wild move on from Gustavsson soon to pave the way for Wallstedt and he ends up in the Metro division either as a Flyer or Cane. Hell, maybe, they even do what the Predators did and pick the older goalie over the younger drafted one. NHL teams don't make sense

Yes . They outplayed annd substantially out shot the Canes . Can’t take them lightly by any means .
Brother in law is a Kraken fan and he says that they always seem to play to the level of their competition. Very hot or cold team. It should be a fun one tonight, unless they play Grubauer, in which case it’ll be very fun for us.

Why do you think they’ll make the playoffs? They have pretty underwhelming numbers, as opposed to last year when they didn’t.

I’m trying to think of who is currently in a playoff spot that they’ll get in over in the East. The Rangers?

Philly has the LOWEST number of RW in the league at 5. They’re also middle of the pack in games played

Detroit really fell off
The last two years they started out over NHL 500 and hovered just over 500 for a decent stretch of the season. Actually, they must have hovered over it the entirety of last year, as they had 91 points.

But this year they’ve been chasing 500 the entire year.

Lalonde has been rumored to be on the hot seat since the end of last year, when it was said he would be fired if they missed the playoffs.

I think there’s been about 8 or 10 coaches fired since that was said lol. All of the coaches who lost their jobs at the end of last year, and the 3 who have been fired this year? I wonder if Yzerfai…I mean Yzerman isn’t allowed to fire another coach because they’re both gonna be fired after this year if there’s no playoffs?

Another pathetic loss for the pathetic Predators. Even the Rangers beat Montreal during this skid they’re on.

Shutout by Montreal. I swear they’ve been shutout 5 or 6 times already and most of them have come in the last month.

I haven’t read their thoughts, but I’m sure they can’t believe Luke Richardson got fired before Brunette, despite the fact that their team only has 2 more points than Chicago in one more game played.

I think the East is pretty putrid for that WC2. I'm not the biggest fan of Torts, but in the similar vain that Lindy got this Devils group to progress offensively that he's gonna do that with the Flyers young guys. I also have a feeling Briere will reward them this year if they're close at the deadline to the bubble as opposed to last year. He has the arsenal of picks. Maybe NYR jump swings with this Trouba trade but they're still painfully mid and no one else inspires confidence there. I don't think Philly is good FWIW, just the bubble sucks

When I say hiring or at least keeping Torts is was the worst thing the Flyers could do, I meant that as a compliment to Torts. Not that he’s making the team worse.

They really need to bottom out, but Torts has them overachieving.

Gotcha, I read it the opposite way lol. I see that argument now tbh, but maybe their idea is that playing well this early in a supposed rebuild will attract guys there. This division is kinda weird, I only see us and the Canes being long term threats.
