Tatar returns to practice and tonight magically Novak is out of the Nashville lineup. Coincidence? I think not!!!!
TB is f***ing scary. The record isn’t that spectacular and neither are the 5v5 numbers but still they’re just terrifying. Vasi’s Vasi. Hagel/Point/Kuch/Guentzel is a super explosive top 4 forwards. Cirelli’s a Selke contender who is also PPG. Hagel-Cirelli-Paul is an annoying as f*** line to play against that dominates both ends. Their 4th line of Eysimmont-Girgensons-Glendening has completely dominated their minutes. On the backend they really really missed McDonagh and they’ve got him back now. He and Cernak eat teams up. Hedman had a couple really rough couple of defensive years but he’s back to being a two way force. I think they need to upgrade the 3rd line but they’re back to being real legit contenders this year
Someone just needs to spear Hedman in the groin 20 or more times and they will come back down to earth.

I think they could've still been around the bubble if healthy but they were already so thin on offensive talent they stood no chance with both Barzal and Duclair going down.

They’re not the worst team, but I’d say they’re the most miserable to experience, knowing that multi goal leads going into the third period aren’t even safe.
I will never forget Leah Hextall calling Tatar Novak . She did it like 4 times that game too lol . You would think that someone would have corrected her right away … nope.
They are coached so well and their core has been together for awhile , they are all used to the system that they are very hard to play against with their structure and skill plus potential elite goaltending . Wouldn’t be surprised to see them in the ECF this year.
Only teams that scare me are the Canes and them. ( Capitals for some odd reason scare me a little as they for some odd reason are a hard matchup for us) .
Probably, but remembering what the Devils ended up like in 2001-02 - I think all those games add up. The Lightning were able to push through, but the Panthers don't have the goaltending.
Panthers cough up a 3-0 and 4-2 lead to Philly. Philly would pass the Rangers in pts and only just behind in pts%. With TB’s win the Rangers would fall out of a playoff spot if the Flyers get a pt

Then the 2021 season was only 56 games with minimal travel. It was a lot easier to get to a 3rd straight final under those circumstances than it would’ve been under regular circumstances

Incredibly entertaining OT in Buffalo and the Jets take it. Another very Rangers game from the Jets. 40% xG at 5v5, scored one of their two goals on the PP, and Hellebuyck stops over 2 goals above expected

Avs legitimately look to be in real trouble.
Florida has really cooled down outside those two games against the Canes...who have also cooled down, tonight's result aside.

The Avs are having a very 23-24 Devils-esque season. Avs are also getting even worse goaltending this year than we got last year.

Yes . They outplayed annd substantially out shot the Canes . Can’t take them lightly by any means .
