Let's talk about market corrections

One of the flukiest occurrences of this season that was very under the radar was Cam Talbot's season.

He's really been regressing to the mean lately.

Evolving hockey has him at a much greater GSAx than moneypuck does. +10.05 GSAx on evolving hockey to just +4.8 GSAx with a +0.157 GSAx per 60 on moneypuck.

And that was before this game.

Tonight he had 3 goals against on 0.73 expected when he was yanked.

I'm not one to defend Todd McLellan, but their goalie situation is turning into exactly what we kind of thought it was going to be heading into this year. You could make a pretty strong AHL all star team with Talbot, Rittich and Copley or any combo of the two.

They got by in spite of their poor goaltending last year. Just look at Copley's win/loss record. His personal numbers were pretty mediocre for that kind of a record.

Muk's NHL debut today!

And the Flyers also lost the one f***in piece of shit (I don’t even wanna type or say any of these f***s names anymore) goalie so they should lose a few more games just because of that.

And the Flyers goalie situation over the last 40-something years really is cursed.

And it wasn’t even that all of them just sucked. You had Pelle Lindbergh dying young in an accident and now this scum for what he did.

Flyers are good, but have no depth. Losing their starting goalie to imprisonment is going to hurt.
They are a VERY hardworking group but I have been watching them closely for two months now and wouldn’t consider them a good team. They just don’t have the talent to sustain what they were doing

Dallas better beat Washington today. They've come up short against several Metro teams recently, other than us.

Even though it's become beyond evident that Washington isn't gonna be able to fluke their way into a playoff spot.

I'd have to believe this is some kind of Torts magic/Torts mirage.

They're a little better than last year, since they had no Couturier and he's gotta be worth some points and wins that they didn't have last year. But I don't think it's the difference between bottom of the East and a playoff team.

They're kind of like the 15-16 Devils (they're probably better than that team though) who just couldn't sustain that all year.

However, that team was more about Cory Schneider. They don't have a goalie as good as 15-16 Cory Schneider, but they definitely have some other players that the 15-16 Devils didn't have.

They also have a better head coach than the 15-16 Devils did.

Id normally agree but that’s how bad this Caps team is lmao no jinx can save them
I'd say they had enough of some kind of positive hex to have been able to sustain a playoff spot through the new year.

What an awful team, everybody looks old and slow. No skill. Ovechkin looks and plays like a gray haired senior citizen.

Even the younger guys don't look very quick.

Pacioretty was just what they needed. Another 35 year old, particularly one that's hardly played in the last 3 seasons and played like 3 games the entire season last year?

That Malenstyn is a pretty speedy guy, but he's not very skilled at all.

Flyers losing 5-0, 25 mins in on Mark Recchi day who was just inducted into the Flyers HOF

Somewhere @Bleedred is giggling
So that's why that game started closer to 1:00 than anything? I saw it was supposed to start at 12:30 when I was still at work, but it was like 12:50 and both the NHL and ESPN apps had it as if it hadn't even started yet.

I thought maybe it was an app malfunction, which wouldn't be the first time.

And how does that work with Recchi being an assistant coach for Columbus? They play in Vancouver tonight. I wonder if he took the night off or flew from Philly to Vancouver to be able to make it in time?

Sharks already up 2-0 on the Sabres. Even Vlasic has a goal today.

Unless Pegula really is serious about not paying a coach who isn't with the team anymore, I'd have to think this is it for Granato after this year. Maybe even Kevyn Adams too.

f*** DALLAS SO MUCH

f*** PETE

f*** NASREDDINE

f*** OVERRATED OETTINGER

They keep CHOKING to EVERY Metro team other than us the last couple of weeks.

Once again... f*** THEM!

If I didn't wish Pavelski got a cup, I would root for Seattle to take them out in the playoffs this time, just like they almost did last year.

TWO f***in goals with the goalie pulled? To the f***in Capitals of all teams? f*** you. This is like some shit out of 2013 with the Devils in Florida or something.
