MSG needs to mic the ice better so you can here the players and the sound from the ice level more. The Canadian broadcasts on Sportsnet and TSN are so much better to watch just with the better acoustics of the game being more abundant.

@Bleedred Hellebuyck gives up an unbelievable softy
As much as I’ve been a fan of Hellebuyck, he’s prone to an unbelievable softy.

I don’t see him give up a lot of goals I consider stoppable but like Marty in his day, he’s prone to shockingly bad soft goals and I’ve given him softy of the night a decent amount over the years.

I’ll have to wait for that one to post. Of course it’s against the Islanders. Can something go right tonight?

I notice a decent amount of those goals happening around the league. I didn’t realize it until I was watching every single goal. I felt like a year or two ago they were happening almost every night somewhere in the league.

It feels like they’re slightly down this year though.

The reverse VH, man. It's taught as the best way to play those angles from peewee, it's coaching not really on goalies. I hate utterly hate it, I get why goalies do it but these guys can shoot pucks at an absurd angle and it doesn't really take out the percentages that you're playing with it. Just one pad vertical to the post and one horizontal and it's way better to play sharp angle shots.

It was actually a goal I saw scored on Marty not terribly rarely in his prime. It was happening a lot in the 2007 series against Tampa, but I can remember it happening to him years even before that.

I seriously remember people talking about it happening in the 2007 series due to him recently having had some kind of laser surgery on his eyes.

Yeah, Marty's different than what's taught though. Him and Hasek were the most unique goalies play style wise. Those goals happen cause coaches teach these guys to do the reverse VH at lower levels cause the guys can't shoot but once you get to the higher levels of hockey, mostly everyone has a good shot where they can rip it on your ear hole or sometimes beat you on the ice. It's way less effective imo the higher levels of hockey you play.

At what point does Lou fire Lane Lambert?

I don't have a very strong opinion one way or the other on Lane Lambert. Not sure if he's a good head coach or not at the NHL level, but if he's going then Lou needs to go with him.

This team is a disaster and it was constructed by a guy that's about 10 years past his expiration date as an NHL general manager.

i couldn't imagine playing goal without old school horsehair pads (that style of pads)...tried the modern style once .....got lit the f*** up

crappy out of town tonight.

Mainly 'cause the CRAPITALS won.
That was highly predictable when seeing who they played.

The Sucks have won enough road games this year against Eastern teams.

They're a pathetic joke franchise at this point. No wonder John Gibson wants out. And Zegras (maybe) too.

Cutter Gauthier may even ask if he can go back to Philly.

It could be ownership won’t give him permission to can Lambert if they plan to move on from Lou at seasons end.

I know he just got re-signed, but I forgot how long for? 2 years? Or was it 3?

Either way, that doesn't mean they can't do away with him after this year or whenever they want.

Lol Sorokin’s skate breaks and he can’t move and the Jets cash in
When I first saw that I thought he was hurt.

God forbid if they're down to Ken Appleby as their starting goalie. That's why they had to play Sorokin two nights in a row. Not sure how long Varlamov is out for.

Imagine if Lou brought Cory out of retirement lol.

Nah.

Cory's been humiliated enough.

Let him relax while doing Hockey Analysis on NHL Network...

Guy is one of the best goalies in the league.

I see that goal all the time around the league.

I think Vladar may have the softy of the night yet again lol.

I just somehow made it through all 9 rounds of the Sharks/Blackhawks shootout.

Two terribly unskilled, not really NHL caliber teams. No wonder if took 9 rounds.

The McLeod bros being this good as bottom 6 pieces is absurd lol

When I played, I had huge pads but I'm also taller than usual lol. I liked the newer style pads but I can see where they're annoying. Old school pads look like small ass candy bars on my leg

How many consecutive games is that for Toronto blowing multiple goal leads late in regulation?

That org is allergic to success.
