Looking at the 8 East teams currently occupying playoff spots, and TBH it wouldn't surprise if these are the 8 teams come April.

Isles are the one team that I am the most unsure about.

Pittsburgh (despite their recent nose dive) is still a contender to take a spot from the Isles or Rangers.

Maybe the Caps, but they are probably are too injured to not get behind the 8 ball. They kind of looks like the Isles from last year.

Everything else has settled it looks like. We are about 20 games in, that is when water starts to level in the league.

Markstrom with a real softy of the year candidate tonight to Phillippe Myers on a clean blue line shot with no screen.

Just seconds after the Flames cut it to one.

He’s had a bunch of softy of the night goals this year. I feel like I’ve been giving him softy of the night almost every other game he plays.

I disagree. That NJ team sucks. They are just getting lucky. They play the trap. Hischier is a 3C who is that Bratwourst guy and they are so small. Any decent forecheck and they will wilt. Just wait until they have to play a team like Calgary.

I still have a real hard time seeing either of them snake a spot from the Rags. Isles definitely possible.

Caps seem like they are in real trouble though.

I guess Jones will do just enough to have just a .900% for the game for the second game in a row.

Same thing happened against Winnipeg the other night.

1 goal on 28 shots (maybe it was like 26) through almost 60 minutes turned into 3 goals on 30 shots in 60+ minutes and an OT loss.

Reimer softie right there to give the Wings a 5-4 lead late in the game....
He’s been shit in this game. It wasn’t the first softy.

And with this game he’ll no doubt be below average on the season at the conclusion of this game.

It was too much to ask for him to have two consecutive good seasons as a starting goalie. I don’t think he’s ever really done it and he wasn’t gonna at 34 years old.
