All trade proposals for Gibson are funny because the guy is signed until doomsday but I actually feel a little sorry for him because he’s under heavy fire. The defense (core, team, coaching, all of it) is horrific. (Admittedly it’s little funny how pissy he probably is about it.)
For what it's worth, I don't think he's doing too much to make Anaheim worse than they are. They're a BRUTAL team. I think they may be worse than the Sharks and that's really saying something.

But the idea that their fans and whoever else were trying to sell Leafs fans into believing that he'd make the Leafs better than they are..... That was just way overreaching.

Highly ironic that Grubauer was supposedly so bad last year because he played for an expansion team, yet Martin Jones is probably having his best stretch of hockey in years behind that same team.

Or are they not an expansion team now and much different because it's year two and not year one anymore?

Not that I think it's sustainable for Jones.

Those Islanders are so damn pesky...They're not going away, are they?

Devils would have to f'n run the damn table just to stay ahead of them.

Why oh why did they pick THIS YEAR to suddenly overachieve?

F OFF! This is our year, you Lou-infested dinosaurs. :madfire:

The Devils matchup really well against them. You should be rooting for them to make the playoffs.

They’re only overachieving in the sense most of us thought going from Trotz to a rookie head coach would matter and so far it hasn’t.

For what it's worth, the Islanders did get a little younger in the offseason.

I know we all love Andy Greene, but he was not NHL caliber last year and it's debatable whether he was the year before that.

Chara was a dinosaur chasing records last year. He was not at all NHL caliber last year.

Those are two pretty big, old and very slow drains and anchors on the back end that really needed to go away.

At least 33% of their defense now aren't a lethal combination of BAD and OLD. They might have some not so great defensemen back there, but they aren't ancient like those two were.

If you don’t like seeing the Isles win that’s too f***ing bad because their schedule continues to be pillowy soft for while.

Huberdeau just scores on what might have been his first shift of the game.

Sutter probably feels really smart now.

The next few games could go either way, honestly.

Well..... They should beat Nashville, but the Rangers just lost to them on the road the other night.

Dallas and Toronto should be able to beat them. Edmonton is a maybe. I expect the Flyers to lose almost every game (even though they don't) so I'm gonna say they could sweep that home and home.

Those last three all at home seem like gimme's, but maybe St. Louis will get on a roll of some kind by then.

He scored with Mangiapane and not Lewis as a wing with Backlund which is a normal decision.

Markstrom is broken again, some real 2020-21 vibes.

Islanders so far are this years’ Rangers. They’re the worst in the NHL in xGA. They’re getting incredible goaltending and if they keep that xGA that high and keep allowing that many shots, scoring chances and HDCA, I doubt it’s sustainable.

They're missing the key element to pull that off, which is a top ranked PP.

So which coach is fired first? Larsen of Columbus? Or does he get spared until the end of the year?

Or Bruce?

I wonder if they lose tomorrow if Bruce doesn't get to come back home to coach another game there?

Rutherford has really been throwing him under the bus a lot lately. A little bit subtly and sometimes not so subtly.

Ok, the dumb lines are in fact a thing apparently and Lucic assisted on Mangiapane’s goal, so yeah, have fun with Lucic in your top 6 for all eternity Flames fans.

Yeah, I thought so. I swore Lewis was on the ice for that goal?

I think Dallas Eakins could be on that list too. He was hired by the Ducks previous management, so Verbeek really has no ties to him. However the Ducks were expected to be kinda awful, so maybe that's why no one is really calling for his firing right now.

Yeah, he also was extended for just one year last year. Actually, I think it might have been an option year that they picked up. Seems like a safe bet that he won't be the coach there next season.

Columbus already gave up and turned this into “let the kids play” year. They’re bad and injury riddled, no point in a in-season firing.

I feel like the Kings could do better under another coach.

They look like total mess half the time, and I feel like they should be better at this point, but I might be influenced by someone calling their coach a f***ing loser all the time.

Boudreau is a lame duck coach who likely won’t be replaced mid-season because they don’t want to pay three coaches. They probably will throw in the towel and accept their fate but Bruce is practically pissing on JR’s shoes and that’s fun.

Mike Yeo is right there, like the Angel of Assistant Coach Death, waiting for his third(?) stint as a Interim Head Coach.

DJ Smith is probably safe because they might as well wait until the new owner fires all these losers.

The Ducks will give up the most goals in the history of mankind and Gibson will end up a broken gibbering Renfield-esque madman but it’s a tank I guess so who cares.

Craig Berube? George Gallant if Dolan is still paying attention to the Rangers?

I feel like McLellan has been in L.A. forever, but I checked and this is only his 4th year there (I swear it feels like he's been there 10 years). I absolutely agree that they could do better. I don't know if I'm being fair to the guy, but for a franchise that is supposed to have one of the best prospect pools in the league, I feel that quite a few of their guys (Byfield, Turcotte) haven't developed the way they wanted, and I wonder how much of the blame could be placed on McLellan (it looks like Villardi finally broke out though).
