Speaking of goaltending, if I'm a Red Wings fan, I'm wondering what the hell Nedeljkovic is doing in net today and why Husso wasn't starting. Husso has clearly been the better goalie by far and this was not a back to back and there's plenty of days between games,
I thought the second Thompson goal was kind of stoppable, as much as I don't wanna nail him on that one.
And the Quinn goal earlier isn't one I'd mark stoppable, but I think that shot might have went in because Nedeljkovic is short. I could easily see a goalie 3 inches taller (like Husso) having that shot peg him and not fly through his armpit and up into the net.
If I'm a Red Wings fan, I'm wondering why we went into a division rival's building and started Nedeljkovic and not the guy that's our starter that we just dropped a pretty hefty couple year contract on. There's not a great chance that Detroit and Buffalo both make the playoffs. If one of them does then it's a pretty safe bet that the other won't, and they pretty much helped them by starting their backup for almost no reason.
I'm not sure why Husso isn't the ''Starter'' there right now, even though I've acknowledged he's had a couple of rough starts to this point.
You don't see Buffalo throwing Ancient Andy into this one.
