His good stretch last year was with the Coyotes, but he played well in Dallas also, but he played way more games for Arizona.Wedgewood was never ever really good. He had a good stretch last season with the Stars and that’s about it . Other than that , he is too inconsistent and is nkt really a 1B goalie.
GMs place too much value in goalies that have a stretch of 10-20 good games or a decent 1/2 season and think they are the next Brodeur.
Only elite goalies in the league right now are the ones that have been very good for more than one season in a row. For me it’s guys like Vas , Saros , Hellebuyck with guys like Sorokin and Sheshterkin lookig like they are that as well. Guys on the bubble for me are Demko and Ottenger.
Thats why Brodeur is the best ( IMO) goalie of all time. He was elite year in and year out ,consistently for his career. (Minus his last year due to age etc.) Hate to say it but Lundqvist was like that too . Solid for years .
Pity.Florida is getting done even dirtier by goaltending.

He's definitely not a 1b goalie, but is he even an NHL backup? I don't think he will be for long. He's already 30 years old and his first season where he was a full time NHLer was at 29 years old.
Technically his age 28 season he was in the NHL the entire year, but that was a gimme because everybody was allowed to carry 3 goalies because of covid.
His AHL career started out poorly, which I constantly cited on here. He got a little bit later on in the AHL as he started to get older.
Lundqvist was definitely one of the more consistent goalies. He didn't have a mediocre season until 34-35 or so.
Luongo was also extremely consistent until the last year he played in the NHL at 39 years old. He really didn't even have a bad season before that. Maybe his first year as a rookie with the Islanders was kind of meh and he had a meh season in the lockout year of 12-13 in limited games played.
Pity.
Saw Knight was in there and was hoping he'd take the net from Bob soon.
Man, f*** those Florida announcers. Or at least Goldie. He's such a f*** and a pompous dickhead. And he's really got a case on himself, as he loves having his picture taken so much. He's got all these pictures on instagram walking onto the bus with his coffee in his hand like it's a GQ shoot.Well the Sens got one called back for goalie interference so it doesn’t look as bad but the second goal wasn’t good IMHO.
Also Ottawa scored 2 goals on their first 3 shots in 2nd after having 4 total shots in the 1st. The Sens gotten into more since then but the shots are 44 and 17.
The Florida announcers are ohhing and ahhing all the opposing goalies: Forsberg, Hart, Stalock…) All the giants.
I don't understand how Eric Staal can't get a contract for the NHL at all last year and now a team that's an aspiring contender brings him on, after an entire year out of the league and close to 1.5 years older.Staal might have distinctly kicked a puck into his own net. I assume that’s allowed.
It's not like Scott Wedgewood had an .893% season in the AHL the last season he played there in 19-20.How did Scott Wedgewood have a bad game? He’s not in our system anymore.
Of course old looking Raanta is in there and allowed his patented super softy on the second goal. The Flyers are getting really lucky, the score could be quite a bit higher for Carolina.
This could turn out to be a shitty night....
I mean shouldnt we root for Philly to win this one? Theyre gonna regress as the season goes on but any points Canes lose is a plus. They are the playoff team of these two.
Yes, but they will be competing with us for #1 in Metro.I'm not sure the Canes will end up in a wildcard position, so I don't think it'll affect us if they win.
