Do guys really need to drop the gloves EVERY time there’s a big hit? As long as it’s not dirty just keep playing or throw a hit back, feel like every big hit results in a fight.

I would normally agree with what you said but I this case it’s a 18 / 19 year old kid that they took a run at Amd blew him the F up.
You have to let the opposition knkw you can’t do that without a response.
If someone took a run or hit Hughes or Holtz like that , I would be VERY PISSED if no one did anything.
It shows that you stand up for your own . Team mates lookig out for ome Another is huge. The other team woild just continue to hit the shit out of your key players and take advantage of the team being gutless.
I love this play . Same thing if someone took a run at your teams superstar. Like if someone was takig runs at McDavid , there better be someone punching that player in the mouth for doing so.
However , I agree with you when the play involves a veteran or a bigger guy that can handle himself gets hit and his team mate fights the hitter when it’s a perfectly clean hit.

I swear Buccigross is such a bad announcer that the production team has to delay the video to make up for the fact he is behind and thus the audio actually ends being ahead of the video. Every game he does has these problems streaming or not streaming.

Two things I gotta say about the Avalanche this year

Their goalies = no-count. I really think one of Toronto or Colorado will have to try to find some kind of goalie help in-season. Perhaps a good goalie stuck on a non-playoff (Blackwood!) but it will probably be no one great. Right now it's looking like Colorado, as Samsonov has performed quite well for Toronto, but like I kept saying last night, you can't eat crow on a small sample size when the larger body of work is pretty damning, which is absolutely the case with Samsonov. I'm totally not sold on Georgiev (he's gotten worse every year) and Francouz is probably just about done, after both hips are now being held together by duct tape.

Alex Newhook - Not sure what's so great about this prospect. I mean, he's no Jack Studnicka (that's a compliment if you're Newhook, as Studnicka has been shit at the NHL level), but I see nothing great about him. I remember when he was rumored to be one of the asks if Giroux agreed to be sent to Colorado. It turned out they didn't even have to give him up to win the cup, but I can't figure out what's so great about him. He's been less than impressive at the NHL level.

He’s been terrible since he got into games in the playoffs.

I don’t care if he was undefeated. Mike Smith could have won all those games if he were on Colorado and Edmonton would have still been swept with Francouz. He kept the Oilers in most of those games and faced way fewer shots than Smith in some of those games.

I thought it was just both of his hips. I didn’t even know it was both knees.

And the the Avalanche had to go re-up him for two more years after the fact.

They got Jonas Johansson back on waivers, but he’s been awful at the NHL level everywhere he’s played. Including Colorado last year.

One of the Buffalo best writers famously said he was one of the worst goalies he had ever seen because not only did he get scored on a lot in games, but he got scored on a lot in practice also.

For my money, Georgiev-Francouz is definitely near the back of the line in goalie tandems in the league. It’s probably the worst out of any team that will be in the playoffs, other than maybe the Leafs.

Hall with 2 assists and the OT winner for Boston this afternoon, Zacha had an assist after going pointless for 3 games. Zacha hasn't really been shooting outside of a 4 sog game against the Coytoes. That'd concern me if I were Boston. I promise I'm only barely enjoying him not being a stud for them right off the bat.

I find it hard to NOT cheer for the Habs D Xhekaj. Kid was workig at a Costco for shit sake and worked his way to the NHL. Kid is tough as nails. Rag dolled Kasian in a fight. Just scored his first goal. He is a meat and potatoes type D but like the kid. He also stood up for Slafkovsky after Slaf took a dirty hit (vs.Coyotes game) Xhekaj moved in from the point in the O zone to hit the player , then skated back to the point lol.

The Predators are probably the best mediocre team in the league. They're just there anymore. That's it. They're another waste of a playoff berth at this point. They ain't won a round since 2018 (when they last won the presidents trophy and the year after they went to the SCF) and they didn't even win the play-in against the former Glendale Coyotes.

As for the Flyers, I can tell without even confirming that they're the current #TeamUnsustainable in the league.

They're smoking, snorting, swallowing and shooting up PDO into every orifice right now.
