I know they're still up 2-1., but if I'm a Colorado fan this makes me nervous. We've seen this movie before. I think the Avs have to win game 4. If they leave Tampa tied at 2-2 I don't think they're winning the series.

As much as I’ve been ripping on Colorado’s goaltending, I can’t really give a stoppable goal to them tonight.

Maybe the Cirelli goal because he fanned on it and Kuemper looked bad on that and maybe even the Maroon goal too, but I wouldn’t give either of them a stoppable goal. The Nick Paul goal goes through him as two bodies are battling right in front of him. That was a legit screen.

Only goal I have stoppable for tonight is the second Landeskog goal on Vasilevskiy.

The first one was maybe borderline, but I’m not sure if that leaked through Vasilevskiy or just bounced off his blocker.

Cirelli and Maroon, Cirelli fanned on his shot and it went 5 hole or low on the ice which looks atrocious. Maroon scored back against the grain after Kuemper went for the poke check and gave up the post.

I don’t fault him much for the Maroon goal, but he didn’t look good on it.

The Cirelli goal looked pretty bad cause he fanned on it. I don’t think it went 5-hole, I think it just went around him, but I could see why anyone would think that didn’t look good.

I’m conflicted. Watching a team threepeat would be historic, but at the same time it would be cool to see a true offensive juggernaut get rewarded with a championship.

I really think this is the first of a few cup finals appearances in the next few years for Colorado.

I think they'll win one soon no matter what happens this year.

I already think they're a favorite to come out of the west again next year.

Agreed.

I want to witness history first.

THEN the Avs can win the next two cups.

Not to analyze any one stop too closely, I did think goaltending decided the game last night. Not stoppable goals so much as great stops that were or weren’t made. When the game was in the balance, Vasilevsky made a couple of great pad stops while pushing across the goal. Meanwhile if Kuemper didn’t let in anything he should have stopped, he didn’t stop anything on the level of Vasi’s stepping up in those moments. Suddenly Colorado is 3 goals down, Tampa has its mojo back and settles in.

I find I am rooting for Tampa because, unconsciously and gradually, while rooting for them to beat the Rangers, I seem to have got behind them. They are running on fumes and willpower, persisting despite injury after injury, with guys like Cirelli now stepping up, and if they can beat the glamor boys in Denver I think it would be cool.

I'm hoping mostly for a good series, with some drama, especially if it goes to Game 7. I would have been unhappy with a Colorado sweep, so I'm glad that Tampa showed some life last night. But beyond that I don't have much of a preference about which team wins.

Yeah and the Avs core is just insane, they will dominate this decade for sure so i'd just like to see the old dogs show them how cups are won first.
I think Colorado is super focused so I don't think they let up, but you def have to be wary of this kind of thinking.

It's tough making it through the playoffs, no matter how easy they made it look this year. And they will have to make some more difficult roster decisions in the years ahead. And while their goalies haven't been great, we've seen first hand that it could be worse.

Given this I think they come out looking for blood tonight.

Ya, TB playing the Rag's gave them some rooting momentum. I also like rooting for the underdog, which even as the 2 time defending champs, they are.

Kuch and Point playing tonight?

Imagine if there was actually a rule that if the goalie was maskless at the time the puck went in the net the goal didn't count?

You could feel that shift wasn't gonna end without a goal scored.

They couldn't get one clear and guys got stuck out there.

Pretty impressive by Colorado considering how bad the Tampa power play was that they had tonight.

If I'm a Tampa fan I'm not even excited about getting a power play right now. Literally half of Colorado's 1st period shots on Vasilevskiy came shorthanded during that Tampa power play.
