I love how hockey fans have no semblance of "defense". Watch him time and time again win the puck from opponents. A specific example is perfectly playing a much faster Evander Kane into the corner on a rush, and stealing the puck seamlessly. Or in the first taking a big hit, staying on his feet and getting the puck to a forward.

All people see is mistakes and offense. Watch for actual defensive plays and realize how solid he was today.

What a joke, you bring up playing Kane into the corner on the rush, then downplay Wheeler walking around him and scoring. :shakehead

If you watch Franson you'll see a lot of mistakes because he's making them non-stop. For a supposedly talented defenceman he loses the puck off his stick and fans on passes way too often. Unlike Gardiner and Rielly he doesn't have the speed to make up for his errors, he's not that young anymore, and he's visibly worse at every facet of the game than he was last season.

.857 save percentage. Barely better than Reimer's .833. Both goalies were awful tonight, just as they were last night.

Now that you've been corrected multiple times in that Bernier actually had a save percentage of .929, is he the next coming of Roy to you now?

There is the missing link from last years team, With the improved goaltending Lupul and Kadris inability to provide secondary scoring is frustrating indeed.

Lupul has been straight up useless. He's holding Kadri back, who has been playing some great hockey since those trade rumours started circling.

NHL's website is bush league. Bernier had a .929 SV and allowed just the OT goal, they show that he has allowed 2 goals on 14 shots...

That better be fixed

Are they going to fix that? It seems like they already counted 2 goals against him and put it on his player page too.

Reimer cost us the game. Wanted to give the 'W' to his hometown fans. But the team showed a lot of grit and heart coming back down from 4-1 and we got a much needed point, with the Habs getting thumped tonight. Would've preferred the extra pt. but I'll take just the 1 point and moral victory for a comeback win.

I was so pumped when Kessel tied it late.

Gutsy comeback, and a good bounce back effort after the Dallas game. If Reimer wasn't so brutal tonight, it could have easily been a regulation win for the Leafs.

Really close game guys
Every goalie had at least a few softies past them
Great pace to the game
Right when Kessel scored, you guys had all the momentum, thought you'd have the OT
Even so, you were able to jump Montreal in the standings
So you've got that going for you, which is nice
Seriously though, very entertaining game
I wish I could have been there, both fans making their chants heard
Only Leafs fans could out-shout the Jets faithful in their own barn
Next game should be another good one
!!!

So happy they came back to take it to OT atleast!
Tallied up most of our chances with Pav getting lucky on some (Kessel's wrister right to his glove) Not saying we didn't get lucky too. Cross crease open net anyone?
And yeah it was a pretty good game. I wish Leafs played more physical.
Neither the Jets 1st goals or Leafs 3rd goal should have gone in. Brutal
Defense sucks sometimes and makes me sad :(
I see what you did there.
Nice tip on the Jets I think 4th goal? Was a beauty. As well as Kessel's.
Gotta admit though I thought we'd get it once we tied the game.
See what I did there?
!!!

Last year Kadri/Lupul were on fire and gave us something we didn't have since Grabo/Mac/Kuli went cold: secondary scoring.
We are a 1 line team again and it shows.
Kadri is 23 and has room to grow.
Lupul is 30 and I'm not sure what the problem is:
Injuries?
Slowing down?
Coming back to earth?
Plays well for a year then doesn't?
Limited shelf life ability per team?

Kadri has been much better lately, just seems to be one beat behind. Lupul doesn't seem to be himself if he's hurt he should get out of the way. I say that because he often limps to the bench. He has a long term contract.

Can't wait till Clarkson is back, would like to see Kadri center Kulemin and Clarkson.

Yep, that's why I wish Nonis trades Lupul while he still has value. I doubt Nonis is that smart though, oh well.

Lupul is just a shadow of his former self and his scared to get injured as he doesn't play like a pf like he used to going to the dirty areas and etc.

This team can't continue to pay Clarkson and Lupul 5.25 million when we could get 2 good players who battle for 1 of them. Since Clarkson isn't moving, it's time to move Lupul. We need a deal like MDZ for Klein. I wonder if we could get a Mark Fayne or something in a deal?
I want to see if we could acquire someone like Andrew Ladd. A physical two-way top liner, who could either pair with Kadri or Kessel. He's signed for cheap for two season, and could replace Lupul's spot.

JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Ladd - Kadri - Kulemin
Bolland - Holland - Clarkson

Looks like they fixed it

His player page still has 2 goals though but I bet it will be fixed too

And if you'll watch Gleason, he made mistakes in the first, one which culminated in a goal. He also bobbled pucks, I'd say he had a good game.

I'm not defending Franson's whole season; I'm saying not to put unnecessary blame on him and distort the picture like he does nothing right.

He's also one of the few guys today that was actually taking shots instead of constantly passing.

2 grinders who can't score + a playmaker battling inconsistency. At least they'll be defensively responsible. Lupes and Raymond have gone missing, maybe being together with holland with wise em up

Stolen point aside, allowing 5 goals to one mediocre team after getting destroyed by another isnt actually a good response.

OH BTW, Reimer evades another loss

That guy is a genius.

Bernier will have more losses than wins at this rate.

if it wasnt for this bull **** wild card playoff format garbage we would comfortably be sitting in a playoff spot, why does the nhl need to complicate things. You have more points, you make the playoffs. so dumb.

I'm kind of torn. On one hand it's inconvenient for us, on the other it cultivates hatred and rivalry with teams whom you play most.
