So... Just brushing up on draft picks no longer with the team. Seems like the Colts took Luke Tenuta and Jack Anderson is with NYG. Any other guys from the last two drafts gone? Is Stephenson still around?

I feel that they're doing ok with their drafting judging from that list. A few misses, but they're finding some hits too, so that's pretty good. Araiza is unfortunate because it was more a character thing than a talent problem.

No one doubted Allen could throw in any conditions or that he physically could be a great QB.
It was everything else.
But Buffalo had a framework in place to let him learn on a curve and it worked out.

There is no framework that will let Tua get to that point. He is physically in a body that will prevent greatness from happening.

From what I saw in pre-season, Benford if far more physical at the line of scrimmage than Elam. He is better at bumping receivers off their route and also in run support tackling. So I think we see him starting. That said, Elam looks better speed wise at keeping up with receivers downfield. So I can see him coming in alot when the bills are ahead and the opposing offense has to open it up with longer routes.

Good problem to have.

I don't mind him. He's a bit irritating & i can certainly see why people might hate him. But he is who he is. Announcers have to be flat out terrible to affect my enjoyment & CC isn't quite at that level.

I also like watching sports in different languages some times too. It makes you focus on the game more.

The heavy DL rotation has been a feature for McDermott since the very start. I don't think it's specifically done to 'save' Miller - it's just what he always does.

Also Allen hitting his two deep throws in the 2nd half was huge. He hasn't always hit open receivers downfield and if he misses those two passes the Rams hang around. Those 2 completions put the game away. Hopefully he has a great season hitting the deep ball this year.

If you would have told me before the game that Elam could go that many snaps without committing a penalty, I would have said no way. The biggest positive was how physical both were in either blowing up the lead blocker or making the tackle themselves when needed. They were very willing combatants out there.

I don't think anyone should get too cocky though out of Jackson, Benford, or Elam's performance. All 3 had 2 deep safeties helping out and a ferocious pass rush making their job relatively easy.

One thing I found refreshing is how much press they played. A definite new innovation on the defense I hope we see more of this year. The way they just took ARob out of the game was something else.
