What a hell of a way to ruin the Rams' SB celebration!
Quick thoughts, with the caveat of it only being one game:
-Singletary should be close to a bell-cow back for now. Still don't like Moss' game that much, feel like he runs to contact too often as opposed to it being a potential move for the right situation (a la Singletary running over a corner along the sideline after catching a swing pass). Cook fumbling on his first or second touch wasn't great.
-The revamped d-line...my God. Stuffing the run. Racking up 7 sacks. Moving Stafford off his spot and hurrying him consistently. This is what they've been missing against the upper echelon offenses.
-Josh looked completely in control save for the one missed throw to Crowder--looked very in rhythm, and while the o-line protected him well, he also helped them with how often he was getting rid of the ball on time at the top of his dropback. Would like to see him take less hits on runs, though.
-LOVED how Dorsey called this game. Felt like they really established Diggs as the #1 option without forcing him the ball, mixed it up with the run enough to keep the D honest (shoutout to Kromer for the improved run game, too), and recognized the need to call quick stuff to avoid having Donald wreck the game without completely neutering the O. Not to trash on Daboll, because he did a ton of good stuff here, but it also felt like he'd have 1 or 2 "WTF" drives per game where he got too cute and tried to out-think himself. Didn't see those today.
-McD is undoubtedly gonna harp on ball security, but putting up 31 despite all the execution miscues definitely bodes well moving forward.
Hope they absolutely crush Tennessee on MNF for the home opener.
