I think a lot of us forgot he was looking to be a full time player last year and he’s stuck in ONT cause he can’t pass waivers. Would take him over Lizotte in a heartbeat.
Pretty sure he's exempt from waivers.

He's still on his ELC.

If he keeps producing he'll be up soon.

Then send Vilardi down to take his place.

Haven’t had a chance to watch any Reign games this year. I love the updates you people are giving but I have not heard much about Madden and stats are not looking so hot. Is he getting much playing time, is he struggling, or is he like Turcotte and making a ton of stuff happen but not getting rewarded on the stat sheet?

I hated the jerseys tonight. Couldn’t see any of the numbers!

That PP is fun to watch. Those guys can really whip the puck around.

I actually love those jerseys but you're right the stupid black numbers on an already dark jersey is pretty much a head scratcher. If they had a lighter color for the outline of the numbers and names it would have been great. Would love to have a #39 jersey if it was done right.

He was getting a ton of grade A chances when he was teamed up with TJ Tynan on the first line, not as noticeable without him so far. Madden is not going to be a player that drives the offense, a complimentary scorer with good compete. Being undersized and not an elite skater, hard to say if he'll be an NHL player or not, he does have better skills than his dad offensively, but that's where the comparison ends. He has 2 goals and 3 assists in 10 games. He'd do well if he could lift the puck a bit better with leverage on his one-timers, a lot of hard drives from the slot right into the goalies pads.

Yea, jerseys look sick. But definitely more designed for look, than the TV viewing experience.

Madden's got the IQ and the hands, everything else has to come around. He's maybe a little further off than the others but I think he can be a good middle sixer.

RJ and regulate mentioned madden but another player who kinda fell off a little bit compared to last year is Fagemo.

He was really good last year. This year I dont notice him much though a little more so vs COL today

Hitting their second year slumps maybe. Pulling for those two to make it in the big club in the near future.

Yup guys got nothing left to prove in the A. And you know once he's finally up he is going to take advantage.
I presume they sent him down to get big minutes and see if they can further develop the offensive side of his game. If so, you have to think that it’s proving to be a successful exercise and you have to think that at some point soon he comes in over Lizotte. He will bring similar compete levels but far more of an offensive threat as well as a touch more size. I presume it’s going to be about how much they are trying to achieve with his offensive game.

I don't think Fagemo is any worse this year, though he hasn't taken a step forward either. Ontario just has that much more firepower .

Having seen the Reign play this season, I disagree.. the kid needs to clean some things up, mainly the careless passing(overpassing really) needs to be tighten up because it’s led to a few odd man rushes the other way. He also seems to be losing more battles than I remember but maybe that’s just the team being more offensively inclined.

If I had to pick one kid and say he’s ready…
At this moment, I’d go with Turcotte… the kid has elite skills make no doubt about but he’s a team player with outstanding intangibles!
The kid is a pure hockey player! Makes me giddy thinking about the damage he could cause on the AI+PD line

Turcotte ready? Really? Below average size, below average strenght, below average shot. A really good and mobile skater and impeccable workethic, but he is still physically immature and almost everytime when an opponent hits him, he is falling. And actually almost every time, when he (Turcotte) hits somebody, afterwards he (Turcotte) is sitting in his ass.

No smaller or bigger than most of the top rookies playing now. No one is saying the same about JAD yet having watched both I came away more impressed with Turc.
You say below average height and strength, look at Raymond. You’ll say but his shot, ill counter and say he does everything else better.
Seeing him in person last year vs this season and he’s bigger, his skating looks better and as the AHL season has gone on his IQ and awareness have only stood out more.
Though I will say this, JAD can come up and play now since he’s projected as out 4C with Kupari now rolling in the 3C spot.. Turcotte is destined for the top 6 in some manner, hence while I think he can come up and not miss a beat the Kings are in no rush with either with how the team is currently playing..

JAD is 22, Turcotte is 20.

If one was going to get called up now, JAD makes a lot more sense IMO.

Let Turcotte ripen on the vine. Give him a taste of NHL action later in the year. Then he can compete for a spot in camp next season.

That's probably a better way of putting it. Hoping he can build off of his strong season last year as he looked really good. Just from the eye-test, he seemed more aggressive in terms of shooting and going to the net compared to this year so far.

I don't think Turcotte will be physically able to play the game he wants to play until he's like 24-25, man strength sets in.

He's going to be ready in every other way approximately now.

He should probably ripen a little bit more but if he doesn't get a callup at some point this year it would be an extreme snub, he's that good. And odds are he's going to be in the NHL much, much sooner than he's 'physically' ready and it will be all about he can reconcile the difference and not get hurt.

he's an extremely skilled player who wants to bang and grind. He can do the first thing now and he can certainly dig in the corner, but he's not going to be out there blasting people like he wants to yet.

Yep guy needs some protein and gym time. If he can pack on 20 lbs he'll be good to go.
