Gotta credit Durzi for a beautiful assist to get things started for the Condors 4th goal - he made a soft outlet right up the middle. Followed by a soft defensive play on the 5th Condors goal. Ugh...

He might be better suited playing in the ECHL. Berube as well. After the game Ingham had, I have no clue why they’d send him to the ECHL over Berube or Villalta.

They've struggled in the beginning holding leads then went on a four game winning streak up 6 to 3 in the third this team will learn. Come back tomorrow tighten up the mistakes all is forgiven.

Man. Byfield -4. He may set an AHL record if this keeps up. Nice to see him piling up goals lately.

Why did they leave Berube in for all 7. Was it crappy goaltending or atrocious defending?

glad to see Turcotte coming on strong.

Ayy experience is good! I hope they are pissed beyond belief for Shitting-The-Bed bigtime and hope the coach lets him have it about protecting a 3 goal lead! The best defense is a Strong Offense! No excuse

What is that -19 for Byfield?

Yes. Where's this 2-way big center?
Meanwhile...Arty, advertised as needs to work on his skating, defense, play away from the puck...is Plus 2.
Kupari, +4. Turcotte +1.

As far as Quinton goes, at least he's not in the OHL, dominating and not
really knowing he needs to work on his D. By playing in the AHL, he will get accustomed to playing the
pro game, Kings system, stronger, faster competition and KNOWS that he must work on defensive play.
The staff will certainly work with him on this. If he was in the OHL right now, this would not be addressed,
as they can address it now.

Before I say anything else, did you watch the game (or any of them)? Or are you using +/- to determine defensive prowess?

To be fair, he had a rough defensive game. Was in no man’s land as far as covering anyone in front of the net on one goal in the third, and had some weak backchecking efforts. His defensive game has been one clear area where he has a ton of work to do. Plus/minus isn’t a perfect stat, but it’s more useful looking at only one team, and he is far and away the worst on the team. He’s earned a lot of those minuses (anecdotally, I do recall a number of instances on goals against this season where he was in a bad position or made a bad play).

Sorry to say it's definitely not out of left field that Byfield needs work defensively. James Bond is right in his assessment. I've watched every game. It doesn't take an expert when it's that apparent.
However the experience is mostly a positive, he needed higher competition that will make him pay for poor backchecking and positioning. It will make him a MUCH better player next year because of it I think.
