So Turcotte comes back and the reign go on a streak? How many games has he been back?

That was a sweet little pass that sprung the 2 on 1 for Kaliyev's first goal. I don't know if Turcotte plays center for LA but the opposition has to chase the puck a lot when he and Kupari are buzzing on that line. The combination of plus skating and plus stick handling for the two of them completely frees Kaliyev for scoring chances. So exciting to watch.

It's ALMOST like these are super young kids just starting their career, growing into their bodies, learning the pro game, etc. and we should be patient with them...and let them grow/develop and get better & better. Nahhh, let's get the pitch forks ready for when they lose/fail again.

Hard to not be excited about that. Obviously Kupari is the 'leading' scorer but Kaliyev adjusting, along with the others, is magnificent. Can't wait to see what this looks like in a few weeks now that they've coalesced a bit!

That's the Reign we expected to see at the beginning of the season, Kaliyev delivering his rockets, Turcotte everywhere and piling up points, Byfield improving and showing his great potential.

Based on that and just about every other aspect of that dude’s announcing, I had to restrain myself from yelling at the TV too loudly so I wouldn’t disturb my neighbors.

It's better when you just watch the highlights from that Kingsgifs twitter feed of all the goals the Reigns scored that game. It's funny to hear that announcer talk like his soul keeps getting ripped out when they scored a goal.

No, his first games were losses (two) against Bakersfield, after that four wins.

The main reason behind the winning streak is solid goaltending. J-F has been a very reliable lately - no easy goals and making several key saves. Ingham was surprisingly good against Tucson (his first AHL-game).

It's not going to get easier as the Reign play in Bakersfield on Saturday and Sunday. Bakersfield toyed with the Reign the last few times they met, let's see how far this Reign team has come in the last week. Certainly they are playing with improved structure and responsibility, and the goaltending has solidified. Bakersfield is 9-1 in their last 10 games.

No more complaining about lack of vets now with DSP, Alt and Sutter.

That's true and also can add that Jacob Moverare could even be considered a vet, in that he's played 97 games in the SHL and won a title there. Add the 16 playoff games there and it's 113 games.
Even if he's only 22. Glad he's back now.

Kaliyev looks so much more dangerous with Turcotte than without.

Kaliyev is my favorite prospect. He's not the best one but he's my favorite just because of that excitement you get when you see the puck heading his way for a one-timer. It's a total "Chicks dig the long ball" thing but I'm a sucker for it. He has a great offensive IQ and, legitimately, should have more goals than he does right now with the chances he's been getting. Many times this year he's wound p shaking his head in disbelief after not scoring. Like that he expects the puck to go in if he gets a good look. He's had one taken away because of an early whistle as well.

I haven't been able to watch much since Turcotte came back but he was really stirring the drink last night and seems to have a nice connection with Kaliyev. I think about what @bland mentioned during the Byfield/Stutzle debate regarding the latter being a better fit for what was in the pipeline, namely Kaliyev. I'm not going to speak for the entire pipeline but that seems to be true for Kaliyev since Turcotte looks like a much better passer than Byfield. His tenacity and vision is really meshing well with Kaliyev's ability to find open space in the zone.

I said it once and I'll say it again. The announcer says like he's watching Old Yeller. He does it because he has to, but he hates his life every time it happens.

Turcotte is so underrated. He will do what JAD is now doing...but with more abrasiveness and 1 level above JAD. And JAD has been freaking awesome.
Tired of the 'we should have taken Zegras' thing. Zegras is slippery and amazing vision....but let's see where this is, 3 years from now.
Not to mention, no one had Zegras rated higher than Alex. Not that I saw...maybe 1 here or there, but not the consensus.

The game is played to win games. Alex is one that does more things in his game to win games, than most all of his peers.
