Having Moverare back and Clague and Strand in Ontario has improved the defense a lot. Not to mention Hults missed games early on as well. The Brickley/Durzi top pairing couldn't handle top assignments.
Really like the D-men on the Ontario Reign roster of late! Saw only parts of games and have seen vast improvements in positioning,Attitudes and getting back to doing what each and all do best. Some are scorers, playmakers, finishers, and others are...all about hard work and grittiness! And Ingham's first outting after not such a great ECHL baptism under fire! Can't wait for these guys to mature and make to the Show"! So we wait and enjoy the ride,Good Luck to the Reign players all the way.. to success...this season and beyond!!!

Turcotte is so underrated. He will do what JAD is now doing...but with more abrasiveness and 1 level above JAD. And JAD has been freaking awesome.
Tired of the 'we should have taken Zegras' thing. Zegras is slippery and amazing vision....but let's see where this is, 3 years from now.
Not to mention, no one had Zegras rated higher than Alex. Not that I saw...maybe 1 here or there, but not the consensus.

The game is played to win games. Alex is one that does more things in his game to win games, than most all of his peers.

That third goal last night pretty much displays TurCOTTE's beast mode ability when he is going all out after every play. Skated hard towards the defenseman, picked the puck off the air when the D tried to go up the boards, and laid a beautiful between the leg pass close to the blue line to Gaunce and then the rest was history. TurCOTTE's my favorite prospect and I hope one day he demolishes all doubters on the Kings. Love his game.

Turcotte is like the engine that makes a line GO. He may not light the lamp every night but he DRIVES the PLAY and is a leader. I know people are down on Turcotte for his injuries, but he's dynamite when he's on the ice.

I read/heard the Habs had Zegras at no 3.

The secondary assist has always been something I chuckle about when it comes to scoring in the NHL. But that play by Turcotte yesterday is the absolute perfect example of why they give secondary assists and 100% deserving. Some points are still iffy but that play was a poster for secondary scoring.

I like that he's a pretty darn fast skater with great control...and that he's a playmaker by instinct! I wonder how Father and Grandfather pronounced Turcotte? History goes back to French,Canada! The Flying Frenchmen! The Kings could look deadly in few short years, perhaps sooner

Seriously...An Englishmen...An English man and English man where do he come from with and who

It’s definitely a blind spot for analytics. I think the reasoning is they get 80% of the way there just saying primary vs. secondary, but you’re absolutely right that they miss incredible efforts like this one that way.

It's kind of the problem for guys like "third assist king" Doughty, I mean the dude forever got actively punished for being the guy who would start the whole play by avoiding the pressure of multiple forecheckers and pinpointing a breakout pass. Though it was entertaining watching some of his biggest haters admit he was the 'best transition dman in the NHL' while actively mocking his production.

Dom-ass was dinging Doughty on the Athletic about who should be considered for awards because of his secondary assist count. That guy is such an asshat.

On that point, one fault I see with Doughty this season is his breakout pass. He is in the habit of holding onto the puck an extra half a second to a second to find an open forward to pass to, but that's not working this season. Many of his breakout passes go to a forward with no time or space to move or skate the puck, leading to turnovers in the neutral zone. There are two sides to that coin; forwards aren't getting open and Doughty isn't making quick decisions. With today's forechecking systems, you don't have the extra time because a defender will close on the forward to break up a pass much faster now.

You can see that in play when the Kings play the Avalanche. They scout teams, know the breakout patterns, and keep you from breaking out cleanly. Then it's right back into your zone. Doughty is not the only one struggling with it, but the puck is on his stick a lot and it's not coming off quickly.

He's the f***ing worst, and he has such a hate-boner for the Kings that his takes are laughable. Is he still arguing that Doughty has the worst contract in the league too? Sixth in scoring among defensemen, second in time on ice per game, and just dominating the eye test every game. BuT hE mAkEs ToO mUcH mOnEy

Some Fagemo love.

3:36 - "I was sitting there in the stands hoping to get drafted by The Kings actually."

I can't say this enough... I really like how much character this kid has but along with Bjornfot, Turcotte, JAD, etc.

Players who can wear an A and play for the team on the front of their jersey rather than the name on the back.

Anyone else having problems w the AHL app today? My screen freezes every 10 secs... I’ve resorted to the pano view which doesn’t have play by play... and would have been perfect for Tucson.
