I have been hard on Anderson for a couple of years but he has been decent so far this season. 8 points in 16 games but what I like is he has been more consistent and noticeable. Nice goal today.

We tend to forget. But Anderson's career high is 47 pts ONCE. He is a 30 pts player.
I think the sooner people remember it, the best it is.

Anderson's problem is the contract not really the player. He always has been a middle six who is best suited for a 3rd line role on a contending team. But with this contract it makes it hard for any contending team to have him on their 3rd line. If he was being paid 3.5 millions a year for 2 more years there would be lot of interest for his service.

The f***?

Dach was very good today and looked awesome the last two years until injury. Maybe hold the phone there a bit. My goodness.

Boggles my mind you trash on Dach and pump the tires on Arber Xhekaj. 🤣😂🤣😂
I didn't pump tires of Xhekaj, just stating what I saw. He saw very little ice after a minor penalty, a suspect call at best.

As for Dach, well, he has been inconsistent, it might have been harsh to say he wasn't a top 6 player but he isn't my cup of tea.

This is just silly.

You might want to scan through the GP part of his stat sheet before you pretend he's a 30 point player.
As a Montreal Canadiens player, he's played 306 games and scored 122 points. That's an average of 32.7 points per 82 games.

So yeah, he's basically been a 30 point player for Montreal while normally contributing very little extra.

His hockey sense is extremely poor to be a 3rd liner on a winning team.

The interest in his service died years ago. If Montreal retained 50%, he'd be tradeable. But you're still not getting much for him.

It was awfully kind how the NHL scheduling showed how little they care giving the giant one finger salute to the Montreal fans, somewhat discourteous and disrespectful. A reporter should ask Molson his thoughts on the scheduling.

Anderson and Gallagher have been fantastic this year. They have been playing their role extremely well in the bottom 6. They are bringing intensity and chipping in with secondary scoring.

The issue is Armia and Dvorak have been awful. No pulse. They don't push the play. The opposite of what you want from bottom 6 players.

Sucks that Anderson and Gallagher are getting a combined 10m to be in the bottom 6, but I don't mind if they continue to play that way.

Armia and Dvorak need to be replaced with players that have a bit more jump and bite.

I agree to most of your post.

On the Dach point… I still believe in him as a center. We can’t trust what we see now to make a correct decision on what his potential is.
Dach needs a lot of puck touches to be effective. I don't feel like he's been getting that opportunity on the wing.

To be fair though, he's been complete ass this year. I still believe in him though. We forget how amazing he looked in his first year with the habs. It didn't look like a fluke and I have a hard time believing that magic just goes away.

Okay, well, last year he had an outlier year, clearly the worst of his career. He played significantly more games as Montreal Canadien than he had in any other season with Montreal and struggled immensely offensively.

What's point per game as a Canadien without that outlier season?

He had some horrible outings as well.
The games he played well he was outside his paint challenging.
He's doing none of that.
All goalies have horrible outings. Patrick Roy used to have stinkers. Primeau had the best numbers of our 3 goalies last year.

The issue you're identifying is fixable.

I'm not trying to say that Primeau will be a mainstay in the NHL. I just think it's way too premature to give up on him.

People keep making this defense that Primeau is young. He is:

7 months younger than Oettinger (4th year as starter)
8 months younger than Swayman (4th year as starter or 1b)
9 months younger than Skinner (3rd year as starter)

All those goalies multiple years starting for competitive teams.

He's also older than starters or 1bs doing far better including:

Luukonen, Dostal, Ersson, Annunen and Wolf
You cherry picked three goalies. I could give you a much longer list of goalies who found their game when they were older. There are some established goalies in the NHL who are really struggling too.

For some reason Patrick Roy couldn't stop pucks against the Flyers...it was odd.

So we can just take good and bad seasons out whenever we want? So we can remove his 47 point season too in Columbus then, right?

His literal career average is 34 points per 82 games (even if you take out his best and worst year).

If he's not scoring, he's replacement level. And he doesn't score enough to warrant the rest of his game.

Has he been slightly better this year? Yes. But he's moved down the lineup where he deserves to be (at best). And his contract is still a huge hinderance to a team.

I don't know why people keep saying Dach is not a center, before his injury last preseason he was our best player at center, he's great defensively and always made other players who played with him better. The only thing he sucked at was faceoffs.

Since the injury his skating hasn't been the same, I would keep him at wing until he looks back to 100% and has his confidence again, then put him back at C.
Takes awhile for them to come back. We only 15 games in. Anderson and Gallagher have just started to play like themselves. Caufield was first half last season getting back.

He's playing like Josh Anderson again.

Marty tried to teach him to slow down the game. But it was a big mistake.

He's dumb as rocks and he likes to skate fast.

Leave his blinders on and let him believe he's f1 even though he's f2 or f3.
Lol... What a concept. Leave players play to their strength. Who wudda thought...
So is it going to become a big decision then at TDL? Keep or trade?
