Nice to see Emil Heineman having some success with his elite shot/release.
I think he'll only get better.

Near future upfront could be

Slaf-Suz-Cole
Laine-Dach-Demi
Hein-Hage-Newhook
Tuck-Beck-Florian

Or you could mix up 1rst and second and the same for 3rd and 4rth

So many options and they all look good!

We're not even talking about Kapanen..Roy..Mesar..

Alot of good trade pieces if needed too.

Future looks bright my friends! 😁

It's early but what i would conclude from this season so far and what i think should probably be corrected before the next season start is this :

1. David Savard is done as top 4. Reinbacher and Mailloux wont be ready to handle the main load on the right side for 2 to 3 more years. So we have to find a vet top 4 on a 2-3 years contract to replace Savard and let Savard go. Someone like Hamrlik would be perfect.

2. For me it's becoming clear Dach is a winger. I think he can still be a quality top 6 winger once he finds his groove back. We should try to add a top 6 vet center for next season. Again ideally on a 2-3 years contract while waiting for Beck and Hage to show what they can do. Basically Monahan on a shorter contract.

Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf
Laine - vet center - Dach
Newhook - Evans - Demidov
Anderson - ? - Gallagher

3. A choice must be made between Matheson and Hutson. They both play the same role. Ideally the defense should look like that next season :

Hutson - vet top 4
Guhle - Reinbacher / Mailloux
Xhekaj / Struble - Barron

Matheson could be used as an asset to acquire one of the two needs above.

4. We must add a vet goalie. Again contract must not be too long 2-3 years. Also someone younger than Allen. Montombeau and Primo was worth a shot but if they keep playing like that something will need to be done. I agree there was maybe one weakish goal today the defense again made lot of big mistakes but it's the NHL you got to make some big saves here and there and they are not being done this season at all. The first goal was stopptable. It was a hign danger scoring chance and a big whoopsie from the defense but that was a stoppable goal. You got to save those here and there imo.
Don't need a vet goalie. They have one. Hughes is 28, been playing pro for years and is playing well in the AHL.

I don't think it's even a win to build on but it's nice to see CC at the top of the goal scorers list.
Considering these guys were craving offense results since a few games I think it does build up confidence and momentum.

We'll see moving forward. And I agree it's really nice to see Cole on top for goals! 😊

Habs players deserve theirs negative critics. But honestly, I would be pissed off to be sit on the bench and look my goalie doesnt make the job done. Primeau is awful, and even Montembeault isnt really good either. They always give 1 or 2 bad goals and this cut the legs for the players, cause they know they have to score 3/4 goals to hope to win.

THat's just crazy how almost each game they get scored really early. Other things is how many times we get the lead just to get scored seconds later. And what about those couple quick goals.

That's insane how the goalies kill the few times we have had a certain momentum in a game.

Our defense is going to make mistakes no matter what we do.
Scoring goals will help with the confidence and hopefully allow us to cut down on the blatant ones.

That in itself would change the entire discourse as long as we can show improvement somewhere.
If we are able to put up 3 and 4 goals a game no one would be complaining.
