What the hell does that even mean? If he can't articulate his way out of a paper bag then how can you even tell he's a good analyst?

Yes unfortunately he is quite a bit worse. Slow AF at this point and his one saving grace, his puckmoving ability, is all but gone. I'm sure they'll consider bringing him back at the deadline but only as a 7th guy at most, but even then I don't think it'll happen.

You seem like the type of person who would fall for the charming bad boy, just for him to break your heart because he was never in love with you simply because he was a smooth talker. Subban is a smoother talker, but that doesn't mean he's "amazing" at his job. Messier is incoherent for sure, but when he gets his point across, it tends to be quite accurate. Trust me, I was quite surprised because I had a disdain for him concerning hockey before ESPN got the NHL rights.

The only serviceable bloke on Altitude is Mitchell and to a lesser degree Liles. Like JML isn't bad, but he doesn't say the truth as it is. He defended Georgiev more than freakin' Bednar does and that gets a lot of brownie points loss. I can't even stand listening to Rycroft at this point. Yan Stastny seems like a decent person, but he's worse than Messier in articulation. So you have one truly good analyst, and he works there part-time lol, it's awful. Keefe is cannon fodder who can be replaced by Brodie Brazil as far as I am concerned, and he's a huge homer that clouds his judgement. Plus, he wears a suit with jeans. Awful stuff.

I had high hopes for Subban but I just told you I don't like ESPN's setup, that includes him. What disappoints me most about him is that he always presented himself as someone new but his mentality is as old-school as it gets--he basically despises all the shit he pulled himself as a player. About the only analyst of theirs I truly like is probably Ryan Callahan, and I haven't seen him on there since I watched a game on ESPN+. I don't mind Chelios too much either, especially when he goes out of his way to shit all over Mike Babcock. But the rest of it is pure amateur hour, half-assed bullshit. Only Wischusen is their saving grace.

The TNT guys are light years better. Lundqvist always offers up great breakdowns of goalies, he's pretty much ripped into his former teammate Georgiev rather decisively, and the rest of those guys can actually articulate themselves, even Biz.

Oh yeah, we are in total agreement that TNT is by far away the best, but our discussion is if Altitude is better than ESPN and sorry brethren, but it ain't.

I think if we are in the thick of things and it's there to happen, we could see EJ back as feel-good mascot. Maybe the organization doesn't see it that way, but you can certainly point to precedent here. Hell maybe it'll be JJ instead.

Erik Johnson is not a good defensemen anymore. It's long past time for him to hang 'em up but he got the nice UFA deal so more power to him.

I don't watch the games, I listen on the radio in bed as the games are typically pretty late.

I heard mention in a recent interview that Bednar was going to move Moose to the Mittlestadt/Nuke line, and move Drouin up with Mac and Lekky.

Has he done this in the last couple of games?

Yes. Outside of a few shifts here and there where he reunites MacK and Mikko, those have been the lines the past two games.
