Post-Game Talk: On the back of a Chris Tanev OT goal, Vancouver defeats Minnesota in the play-in

Juolevi showed some poise in his limited ice time tonight. Very encouraging for our bottom pair next year. I think two of Stecher, Benn, and Fantenberg might be gone next year for cap issues.

There's no way we let Tanev walk.

Stecher would be an idiot to stay. Guy gets 9 minutes by the end of the third? 19 for trainwreck57? Green doesn’t have any faith in Troy...time to move on.

Congrats on winning the series, guys. I've said it repeatedly...I miss our teams facing off against each other now that the realignment has really limited the matchups.

Good luck in the next round. And should you run into Dallas, Vegas, or Colorado, please do me a favor and beat the crap out of them. Seriously, make sure there is nothing left of them but a puddle.

Thanks Wild fan very classy. Both teams fought hard.

Yes, I also saw him save a potential goal today on a similar play.

In terms of game-play, Myers was the Canucks 4th best dman in the series for me. The same as the regular season.

Factoring in the lack of discipline and he grades out a lot worse. You simply cannot put your team short handed that many times.

4th best Dman on the Canucks, or for both teams?

Myers was bad in this series. I would question any poster that had him at even average. He was poor on balance, made nearly unusable due to his penalties. Green better be talking to this player.

He looked markedly worse here than he did in the regular season.

Nucks matchup well against the Blues - going 2-1 in the season (yes I know it means nothing now, but all we can go off of) and the Stars beat us twice in our matchups.

The Stars have looked very bad, and the Blues have looked okay so far. Binnington has been off, Allen is starting in net - so if you're asking me the Blues don't want to play us.

And it’s gonna be out side of top 15, WORTH IT
Yep.

Honestly, the way the end of this season played out with COVID-19 was the best thing that could have ever happened for the Canucks. They could have finished outside the playoffs and given up a decent pick. In this scenario, they're now in the playoffs and the pick will be who knows how low. Even if they lose in the opening round, the experience has been huge and worth getting Miller.

On the Canucks.

As I said, his lack of discipline was horrendous. In terms of game-play, he was not poor. Don’t think his play was worse than during the season, other than the obvious penalty trouble.

Guy needs to settle down. Tried way too hard to punish the opposition.

He was poor on game play. I don't think you could reasonably argue that he was at the level he was during the regular season. Myers was more often a liability on the defensive side of the puck than I care to remember. The Virtanen cover was just the highlight. Mistake after mistake.

He was foolish in the neutral and defensive zones.

Who was behind him? Juolevi, Fantenberg and Stecher? Stecher was better on balance. Hughes, Edler and Tanev were better.

I too felt that Stecher didn't deserve this treatment. Stecher was better than Myers, but 6'8" giraffe and blah blah blah.

Myers was a gong show.

I don't think anyones mentioned Hughes' ice time but he played almost half the game.

His 27:31 on ice was more than anyone else on the Canucks and only slightly behind Brodin and Dumba (29:01 and 27:47).

Pretty clear who our number 1 dman is, and he's a rookie.
