Don't know what the general consensus on this board is, but holy ****, Quick is awful today.

Goal one is completely on him. A backhander from the faceoff dot... are you serious?

Goal two. McDonagh made a **** read, for sure. But it was a 2 on 2. Quick was WAY too far out of the net, as usual, and got NO push from right to left. Pitiful.

Goal three. Screen. Whatever.

What a bunch of losers on this team. And to make sure, I'm not just mad at only Quick here. Hard to be mad at only your goalie when you haven't scored a goal in 120+ minutes. But this post is purely observations on Quick's game, today.

Anyone blaming Quick for today's loss have no clue about goaltending or hockey in general. Team in front of him has been brutal.

Is the USA flying back after this game ends? Finland has to stay around for the medals tomorrow but I don't see why the US would stay another day. At least it would give Mac, Cally, and Step an extra day to get adjusted to the time change.

At MOST, you can put Goal 2 on him for being too far out of his crease...

The rest is all on the defense...

And hey, the offense too.... maybe we could score an answering goal for once.

The coaching was awful even during the wins.
Team USA did not show up today.
Patrick Kane is getting his comeuppance today.

So what's the story here...if you medal you have to stay for the closing ceremony, but if you don't you get to leave before then?

AS I SAID

I'm not blaming Quick for the losses, obviously. Who in their right mind would blame the goalie when their team is getting shutout on the regular?

I was saying I have a problem with the way Quick played on goals 1 and 2 for Finland. Don't see how anyone can argue otherwise. To each their own.

At this point there is no jump in this team's game....almost wouldve been better off with Kreider on the ice than some of these guys. I feel like were watching tortorella hockey. A lot of dump n chase, bump n grind. The decisions around this team are puzzling.

Buff, Johnson, and Ryan shouldve been out there.

Yandle and that Islander too

Agreed. Quick was bad on those goals. He just was. He has played well otherwise.

I don't think EK is better than N. Lidstrom or even a few other guys who have come since Orr. It's way to early to compare him to to people on that level.

That being said, he's an amazing player.

Karlsson's never had the quality of teammates Lidstrom had. Plus he's putting up the best performance by a Swede ever as a defender in the Olympics IMO. Keep in mind, he's carrying a team with injuries and key roster exclusions.

Flat and lifeless. The leadership group and coaching staff of the 2010 team did a much better job of making sure the team puts forth a consistent effort each night. There's no excuse for a team with so many hard-working energy guys such as Kesler, Backes, Cally, Parise, etc. to give up like this.
