I get that if it were a choice, but as I understand it women can't choose to wear just a shield if they wanted to.

If enough women started pushing to wear half shields or no shield at all, there's no way they could deny them the same treatment as the men. However, you don't hear any rumblings about that, more than likely because very few women would want to, especially given the societal pressures on women to look attractive.

this is just stupid and basically says that women athletes care more about their looks than winning. And I highly doubt all the women on the team are lookers
