if their is a David Backes type forward in this draft.... Rangers should draft him.. Rangers outside of Kreider is not a big team. talking about players that play physical and have some grit...not a creampuff like Rick Nash

id take David Backes over Rick Nash any day of the week... id take the complete player of a guy that is too predictable with that stupid backwards spin and those stupid dekes he does.

At any level of women's hockey, not just the Olympics.

Also I'm pretty damn annoyed at NBC and the way they're preventing anyone from watching streams online without paying for cable tv. I don't want to watch from sketchy streaming sites while I'm at work, I don't want to try to use a VPN and all that crap. Hell I'd pay individually for some of these games but I"m not given that option. It's a damn joke

I recommend VPN no matter what. Not that it would help in your situation.

Yeah I'd use VPN if I was at home, but since all the games are during the day I don't really feel comfortable with VPNing and all that on my work network. blah
 
I really don't understand why body checking isn't legal in womans hockey. Checking is such an huge part of hockey, that it's almost like saying female basketball players aren't allowed to dribble the ball or something ridiculous like that.

And I really don't understand why female players has to wear the full face masks. If they choose it that's fine. But if we're talking safety it would be much more logical that male players were required. Exhibit A: Marc Staal. Isn't it just the opposite in lacrosse? Female players play with goggles and male players play with helmets with full face masks?

it is a holdover mentality and nothing more.

They should let the women check. They are basically checking anyway just make it part of the rules.


Are there any full contact female team sports ?

If it makes you feel any better the NBC stream has been buffering like crazy today and i am on some FAT pipes here at the office
 
We live in a society where it's much more acceptable to have scars on your face and missing teeth when you're a man than if you're a woman, from a physical beauty standpoint.

Masks and shields weigh down your head and distort your ice vision. More men are going to choose going cage/shield-less than women because attractiveness is less of an issue.

Despite all the advances in gender equality, women are still considered the more delicate gender, in need of protection.

I get that if it were a choice, but as I understand it women can't choose to wear just a shield if they wanted to.
