Somebody here survive from the former official message board from the TBL? I'm talking about 20 years ago or little more.
Hello, Martin!

I also remember you from the original official board. In fact, I met you at a Lightning game in 2011, if my memory is correct. I flew down from Boston and met a whole lot of people in person for the first time. If you still have a picture from out on the concourse, I am in it with you! (Okay the date was February 23, 2011. I was able to look it up easily because I remember Dan Ellis was traded the next day.) Game was against the Coyotes (RIP) and Teddy Purcell had a hat trick!

That was such a fun night. I will never forget it! My family and I came to the game early to watch warm ups and we were sitting in the same section as a number of people I knew from online. Then after the game, we went out to the player's parking lot, and my son got a lot of autographs, including Stammer and Vinny.

I put a photo from that night as my avatar. I felt like the "Welcome Home" message was meant for me, even though it was my first "home game."

P.S. My journey is from the original board to NHL Arena to Bolt Prospects and now I am boardless, so I just came here to see what was happening.

Lomeister on BP, too, though I didn't post a lot. I actually joined because there was an active channel devoted to the Admirals when they were the AHL affiliate. (I've seen quite a few Admirals/Crunch games when they played here in New England and even went down to Norfolk to see a game during the Calder Cup finals.) Then when the affiliate changed to Syracuse, there wasn't much discussion on the AHL level anymore. And a lot of people I used to know left. After that, I usually just hopped on around the various deadlines to see what people were thinking on trades, signings, draft picks, and the like. There were some folks who really knew their way around the salary cap and so forth. So...it's perfectly understandable if you don't remember me.

"puckhead" followed Bolthead here, after Bolts Prospects bit the dust. I've enjoyed the banter.
Sotnos, Flycoon, Great Zo, Halo (Burnt), Narrow way, Aapbolt, TB (TexasBolt), jdhebner... I wish they'd all come back here. Well those folks and a couple of others I missed. Speaking for myself, I swore off HFBoards back in the day due to the asinine way prospects were graded, and an allegiance to BP, but now that it's dead they'd be welcome here with open arms and I'd roll out the red carpet for them. Almost all of them.

Well, I say it's dead, but it's more like Princess Bride "Mostly dead". Not a decent prospect ranking or write up in over 3 years but... sure as shit there is a sunrise there's a post in that God-forsaken, f***ing cesspool that is the "News of the Day" thread from just over a month ago.

And it's Exhibit A on why I left there and committed myself full time here

With message boards I was always more into Bucs and Magic related forums. The old St. Pete times Bucs forum was probably the main one, posted a lot on the old ESPN forums, and then Pewter Report. Far and away the worst forum I've ever encountered was the Magic official website forum. Good lord, average age had to be eight.

I've been following the Lightning since their inception, I hate that my "join date" for this site is 2015 because it makes me look like a bandwagon fan. I just so happened to find this site that year. I have to say, as forums go, this is probably one of the better ones I've been part of. Or maybe I'm just getting too old, and no longer have the energy to argue as much.

My "join date" is pretty similar, although I had lurked on the original HFBoards design.

Threads were actual threads.

Man, lots of memories. Was very active on the Sunshine Network board prior to becoming a regular here and at BP. Eventually transitioned to social media, particularly Twitter, but never stopped lurking.

Joined in 2015, you gotta be a bandwagon fan :sarcasm:

Some of these 2000s dinosaurs 🦖 got me beat. At least I dodge the 2015 final bandwagon allegations.
