Another guy who deserved mention tonight was Perry. I was very skeptical of his signing but he has been decent value for his deal. He plays well in tight to the net. He's not going to score a ton but if he can keep the gas tank running then he will be valuable down the stretch.

Nor do we have the assets to acquire one and hope they get the system under their belt in good time.

You're going to have to do what Vegas did in taking some cracks on multiple goalies, they hit pay dirt on Adin Hill and won a Stanley Cup because he went on a .930 tear for 3 playoff rounds.

Our management is probably too lazy to do that though.

Dostal has been great. Better than Igor and Helly in some stats

Why do shitty teams somehow find good goalies lol

Even a high end backup would be better than what we have

Imagine breaking a playoff record for having the worst save % to win a series against Vancouver
Because some teams can draft and develop goalies while others rely on the goalie coach from their nearby WHL team.

He looked very good tonight. He was moving and pivoting nice.

Islands in the stream.
Could still use an upgrade on the 2nd pairing, not sure the guys they have can hold out for 16 wins in the playoffs.

If a truly good goaltender is available out there, the deadline money might be better allocated in that direction when the trade deadline rolls around though.
I think our D is at least as good as last season. Stecher can play and Emberson is rounding into form and establishing himself with some hitting and low event play.

We're seeing stupendous play from Ekholm, Kulak, Stecher going forward, Booch starting to get untracked,

I don't think the D is the problem. The problem is obvious and has been for a long time. Even in an excellent shot suppression chance suppression game Skinner gives up 3 and is luckly on posts and crossbar. On 22shots. Ridiculous goalie.

Not sure how anyone can be surprised by Skinner at this point. Hes a backup at best. Likwe others have said, another goalie is probably more of a priority than anything. He just doesn’t make enough saves and its not particularly close.

Can we please play Pickard more?

Nice to see McDavid break out. We need him playing like this.

The D has been good enough, though there's always a question of whether or not you can count on guys to maintain it for a) a full season, and b) a playoff run. Will have a better idea come TDL. But yea even if they go out and get another Ekholm that may not be enough to overcome Skinner.

Honestly the last couple of games I’ve seen Emberson he’s looked pretty calm and collected

Love how that trashbag Hill has an even worse save % but managed to put an .931 against the Oilers. f*** off
So many goalies play lights out against our team.

I’ve said it before. People get out of bed to play against McDavid. You want to play your best because you know he’s the best.

We get f***ing hasek every second night it seems

Literally I don't even understand where the puck went in. They shit it at his crest?!

He’s just a solid player. Very simple game doesn’t do anything flashy just plays strong, hard nosed D.

I really loved on the second goal when the whole team was puck watching he was yelling at them trying to direct traffic. Hopefully as the season goes on they start listening to him more.

Yup. I hate that piece of shit too. Smug prick and he's been nothing before and after their Cup run. Cam Ward-esque
