While Kypreos is hated out here a lot, the guy really is keeping his job by bashing the Oilers. Not a lot of people from Ontario want to hear people talk good about the Oilers. They feel better when we are bashed.

Actually, this technically isn't true. We fans don't play any role in the outcome of games but the players salaries are essentially paid by we the fans so, in a way, we are part of the team. I also think people say "we" because it's a feeling of unity, feeling a bond with the team and fellow fans.

The core were huddled at Center ice before start of 3rd period and obviously having a convo about making sure they get the W. Its there, but the bench could be more vocal. But another side is that it doesn't even have to be too vocal. Look back at Drai tapping his shoulder at Connor McDavid telling him its gonna be OK. Team has a lot of resolve to overcome.
I wonder if Perry was "ok" with the buyout knowing he's gonna get his choice of team to go on next
Or the confidence / arrogance to just believe you can make a play / something happen. Expect Perry will bring that, just like how Kane brought that, McDrai have always had that and has noticeably rubbed off on Hyman / Foegel / McLeod.
Without question, getting your money and getting off a bad team, perfect situation for him.
if the consequence is getting to leave a brutal dog fire team and get to play for a cup contender its not too bad at all. add in he will most likely file a grievance and get his money too its kinda perfect

Again I’m not insulting our leadership. I know players want to run through a brick wall for McDavid. I’m also not saying they aren’t vocal.
No I get it. But premium teams lose games like this every day of the week. In an 82 game season its no biggy. The only thing I want to see is the club being more resilient against contender clubs in the playoffs. With guys like Perry added to the lineup this helps. I do think for the record the vocal or stable nature of Mike Smith or Duncan Keith was missing from the lineup as well. In the case of Keith though the leadership was too quiet and picked its spots.
