Adding another guy who knows how to win in the playoffs in Perry I think is fantastic. He's great at getting under the skin of the opponent, suckering them into taking penalties and throwing them off their game. Love that he's now on the team.

I've wanted Perry on the team for years. I think Lowe came pretty close to trading for him during the Comrie fiasco ago, if I'm not mistaken. Always thought it was a shame that didn't go through.
He's 38 now, but his stats have been up and down the last couple of years. He scored 40 points only two seasons ago and was more than 0.5 points per game this year. So that's Foegele/McLeod numbers. Would be fantastic if he could continue the trend here.

HAHA Perry said he was almost an Oiler 20 years ago from that botched Comrie trade.
Lowe's greed probably saved his career.

Adam Erne likely hits the AHL once again. It is kind of a toss up as to who sits - Brown is useless offensively, but has been great for our PK. Gagner always seems to play well. Holloway won't sit, but he could be sent back down.

Excellent add! This is literally the dictionary definition of 'proven successful playoff performer' that teams strive to add. Love it! Finally a Oiler

Wanted to mention this lately in other threads - How great would it have been to have obtained Brown for league min as a 4th line shutdown / pk player?

CP hand wringing about our "classless" org is funny considering the skeletons the Flames have in their closet.

Todd Bertuzzi
Dennis Wideman
Bill Peters
Milan Lucic

Don't hate the player, hate the game

The question I have about the flames is what exactly it is about their environment that causes people to have mental health breakdowns so frequently.

Like it's a pretty low pressure environment all things considered... A little bizarre how they have more of that than pretty much the entire rest of the league combined. Something else wacky is going on to make it so hostile that people just straight up losing their mental.

Ok, it this an appropriate time to say I have two wolves inside me: one barfing and one roaring?

p.s. I am even embarrassed to use that meme. Look what you have done to me, Corey Perry!

Or as some call him - Roar-y Perry. 😘

Had to take a look, holy cow are they riled up. Didn't think such a small addition would set them off.
as an oiler fan who lives in calgary i will fully admit that after hockey late at night on the drive home i always check to see if the flames lost and if they did i listen to the local call in show and let me tell you, as an oilers fan listening to the despair and madness makes me laugh every time. and its not just this year ive been doing it for a decade and a half at least

Idk man. I think Holland should get some credit for always pouncing on these situations. Even going back to Detroit - I used to think "man it's so nice that all these players fall into Detroit's lap, must be nice..."

But honestly... 5 to 10 teams wanted Kane. 5 to 10 teams wanted Perry. They came here.

Holland deserves some flak, but I think he deserves some credit too.

Yeah I agree even though I'm still not a fan of Kenny.

I think back of when the kerfuffle started in Chi town, how I/ we / most of us posters were thinking how awesome it would be if we could somehow get him. And in the next thought, how unlikely that would be since if the situation wasn't too bad, many teams would be after him. I'm very happy!

Well done KH

sometimes when you go on a road trip and spend time in all the visitor dressing rooms and then you come back to the saddledome and realize its a dump compared to every other area you tend to spiral downward. like imagine you are on a work trip and you rent a hyundai elantra for 2 weeks then you get home and have to ride your moped....but the battery is also dead

we set a precedent, now every agent will be demanding the Ken Holland special. If its good enough for Mr.700 days without a goal it must be good enough for Corey Perry
That 10 game threshold is not Holland's invention. It has been used quite a few times in the last few years. It's just a wait to exploit the cap loophole.
