Some more “info” for those who are wondering:

Someone posted this on the main board.

According to the After the Whistle podcast hosted by Andrew Peters and Craig Rivet, Perry grabbed the booty of an employee at a corporate event at the end of the evening while intoxicated.

Because it was at a corporate event, the no tolerance policy with the Blackhawks (it was not reported by the employee but by someone else), is what caused this issue.

They went on to say that Perry is likely going to sign with Edmonton for a league minimum 750k, as he already received a 2 million signing bonus with the Blackhawks.

Adding another guy who knows how to win in the playoffs in Perry I think is fantastic. He's great at getting under the skin of the opponent, suckering them into taking penalties and throwing them off their game. Love that he's now on the team.

I've wanted Perry on the team for years. I think Lowe came pretty close to trading for him during the Comrie fiasco ago, if I'm not mistaken. Always thought it was a shame that didn't go through.

Gags Brown Janmark Ryan and Perry will take turns in and out of the lineup I think.
Ryan is our only Right shot faceoff guy, so I don’t think he’ll come out.
Janmark has been a huge part of the PK that has been probably the major factor in a 13 game win streak. Can't take him out.

Thinking about replacing heart and soul Sam Gagner with megarat Corey Perry makes my stomach hurt.

Has to be Holloway out, right?
I think they’d like to get a good look at Holloway at centre on that 4th line.

Janmark, Brown, Gagner, and Perry will be fighting for 3 available spots, although Janmark plays the leftwing more so. They could move Foegele back to the leftwing at some point if they want Brown, Gagner, and Perry in the line up.

Whatever they decide it’s a great problem to have to be able to sit legit nhl players.

Posters worried about who will be the odd man out is a good problem to have
It's great to have depth. For contrast, I went back and looked at the 2019-2020 lineup that lost to Chicago during the play-in round, and our 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th best forwards that season in points were: Kassian, Neal, Chiasson, and Archibald. Pretty depressing. It's really no wonder we were bounced in 4 games by the Hawks. Since then, we've added or developed Hyman, Kane, Foegele and McLeod, who I'd say are all better than those previous 4 players. Gagner, Janmark and Ryan have been great depth guys, and adding Perry makes that depth even better. There's also Holloway, who seems ready and has been good.

The depth to this forward core now is night and day compared to that season, and I think even better than last year -- especially now that Knoblauch has spread out playing time more throughout the lineup and given guys bigger roles that they've bought into to.

I have never seen a sports forum with more wretched posters...anywhere...it's as if the worst twitter posters all convened there. It's rather entertaining.
They call themselves CP. people usually go to jail a long time when they have anything to do with CP.

The user comments on the Spitting Chiclets Instagram clip of the press conference are brutal, Gen Z really want's to cancel everybody lol
Which is funny, because you don't follow Spitting Chiclets for politically correct statements to begin with. Although I see there are a lot of people that follow a lot of accounts on Instagram just to post negative shit no matter what the user posts on their account.

You want to see a cesspool of a comment section go look at Dana Whites from the weekend when Raquel Pennington, her wife and daughter walked into the arena Saturday for her fight.

perry can also slot into the 2nd unit PP as the net from player, hes hard to move from there and still has fantastic hands and finish in that area. hes basically a bigger scummier hated version of what gagner does now.

That’s HF too - tribalism is a part of human existence
im calling you out on this as soon as i see which way the majority of other people are leaning

There were reports yesterday that Perry has been skating and is already up to game speed. I imagine he'll play this week.
Wow...okay.

In the rumour thread, someone posted a Spector tweet saying he should be on the ice for practise this morning. If he’s been skating and staying in shape, I think he’ll be in against Chicago, if not Columbus.
A little surprised that he is game ready so quickly but I am not disappointed..

Given his time away from the game, he’ll need some Bako time (3 or 4 games)…..so Feb 6 looks pretty good

Ken Linseman might object to having his “Rat” honorific given to another player.
See...tats kind of what I was thinking too. That he needed a few games in Bako to get up to speed. Apparently he doesnt need that.

As for the Linseman comp...it came to mind for me too and the best part about that was that Linseman helped win the cup. :D
