8 seasons with arguably the most talented player of all time and they have 4 total playoff series wins and are a mediocre .500 team in his 8th season. Just rotting away the primes of two of the best players in the NHL and a complete afterthought in the contender landscape and an irrelevant franchise quite frankly.

Only the Oilers could accomplish this feat with the absolute gift from the hockey gods that they got handed to them.

Three of the four 2nd period goals was a bunch of Oilers players standing around with glazed looks on their faces while the Kraken passed it through their sticks and skates with impunity.

Hyman was legit terrible tonight too. He looked like Puljujarvi on the called back goal, hesitating to touch the puck like Drai was gonna yell at him or something. Just push the damn thing over the line you goof.

That Holloway penalty was just bonehead stupid on a level that was hard to comprehend too. Wtf did you think you were going to accomplish by a one handed, uncontrolled slash from behind after you lost the foot race?

And the seasons slipping away and our best hope is Kane comes back early and the defense miraculously appears? What is the the plan here??? I said it at the start of the season several times since and I'll say it again. Keith even at 39 or however old he is now would at least know how to defend the front of the net. I'd rather watch Keith get walked every 3rd game then watch that pathetic defense stand making half assed attempts at clearing the puck. If Keith drove in from Kelowna today 1 day removed from an epic 7 day Xmas/New Years bender 30 pounds overweight I bet you dollars to donuts he clears that pathetic 3rd goal they got. I thought this is the year the 1st was in play for sure.
It may still be.. but for the wrong reasons.

I thought we'd trade our first for a shot at a cup run. Now we may need to trade to keep in the playoff hunt.

The reality is the Oilers are a team with perhaps the best power play of all time. But are bottom half of the league in every.. and I mean EVERY other facet of the game. Pk, 5 on 5, physicality, urgency, work ethic. preparedness, focus, coaching, managing, drafting, developing, supporting, scouting, negotiating.
