Well, as far as I can tell Katz group doesn't want to honor the agreement as written, which is why it is going to court. They are asking the court to interpret/rewrite the agreement. If there were any explicit conditions written down in the contract on how Boyle Street is supposed to do fundraising to make Katz happy, and Boyle Street failed to meet those conditions, no court involvement would have been needed. It would have been cut and dry.

Basically Katz wants the court to write in some conditions into the original agreement, I guess by claiming they would be "implied" or "common sense".

The article states that none of the allegations have been proven in court so I'm wondering how you got the inside line.

And as someone else pointed out, it was a sliding scale so they actually didn't hit the best number if the goal was to make Katz pay the full amount.

Meanwhile, shelters are empty, because they don't let people shoot drugs all day in the rooms, so our campers don't go get help anyway. Our campers like to shoot drugs and not try to get better.

Lots of people have to bust their ass everyday, pay taxes and buy a house. I choose to control or get help of my problems.

I drive hastings in Vancouver every year, wondering how we can help all these people overcome addition, and challenge them to be productive members of society, vs setting up tents, In front of hard working businesses.

Just one example for ya. It was a case In the states where this guy was thrown in jail for stealing food.

so they told me I had to go to a shelter. That's how I ended up in shelter for the first time. And they also told me that I had to get treatment for my schizophrenia, had to go on medication and see a psychiatrist. And I slowly got better
